Fuzz Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Could you elaborate a bit more on that? I just reached for my little tin of Guantanamera Puritos beside me. On the bottom of the guitar print, there's a little barcode that above it says: Habanos SA. In fact, Guantanamera is not a HSA band. It belongs to ICT (Internacional Cubana de Tabacos S.A.) who produce the fully machine-made Guantanamera, Belinda, Troya large cigars; plus the various Brands of the Mini, Club, and Puritos small machine-made cigars (cigars less than 3 grams). Guants may be distributed by HSA, but they don't own the brand. 1
Maplepie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Guants may be distributed by HSA, but they don't own the brand. Thanks for clearing that up, Chris. I guess it does pay to have you patrolling the boards 24/7 . Two more questions, if I may: 1. Is ICT SA a Cuban company, then? Couldn't find too much on Google about them... 1a. If ICT is a Cuban company... What's the point of having it? 2. Does this mean that Guannies, Belinda, and [my blessed] Troyas cannot be discontinued by Habanos SA?
Fuzz Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Not 24/7. Maybe 20/7, I do need to sleep every once in a while. Can't answer the first two, but as Guants are produced by ICT under license, HSA could just revoke said license. Poof! No more Guants. Same goes for your Belindas and Troyas.
shlomo Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Ok, well the PLPC is alright, but honestly if Habanos SA is not going to give PL the love desevers might as well axe it. In my opinon, onlly reason why people love it is that it offers a resaonably priced petit corona. Other than that and it's pricey RE's, who gitves a rat's ass lol. I'm guessing you have never sipped a 5 or 10 yr old Montecarlo? You are missing out on one of the sweetest cigars made. How about the Picadores? If they are true to Marca, they will explode with honey in 5 years. 2
in0gravity Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Here's a question, the 2015 EL the Upmann Mag 56 (Or was it 58?) will presumably have the second magnum band like both the m46 and m50. With the addition of the EL band will it be the first widely available Cuban triple band? From the pictures I just saw from the Habanos Newsletter, the RyJ Wide Churchill Gran Reserva will have three bands
Skyfall Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 My vote is to add an "E" to the letters "AX" in the title to make the word " AXE". I thought this thread was going to be about Armani Exchange.... 4
Maplepie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 From the pictures I just saw from the Habanos Newsletter, the RyJ Wide Churchill Gran Reserva will have three bands How ludicrously revolting. I think this is the first time in HSA's portfolio that a cigar will have its bands covering half the cigar's length. Thanks for that awful, awful news, Lars... 1
El Presidente Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 My question to El Pres is as retailer does Habanos SA ever reach out to guys for your input? It is sometimes discussed in the early mornings but never official input. i have to say I don't envy them, 99% of what they hear are complaints from distributors or retailers. I don't believe in deletions (of anything). if they are slow sellers then only produce them every few years. I don't mind the high priced new releases. Weather you like it or not they have a proven market and they put money into the pockets of HSA. I suspect it is the only reason why many brands/cigars that are so slow selling even exist today. 2

I'd pay two rat's asses for one. 1
SteveGriff Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 They should axe Cohiba to help improve the quality of all the other brands. What do you say comrades? 2
headstand Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 They should axe Cohiba to help improve the quality of all the other brands. What do you say comrades? Had a bad batch recently? I
JohnS Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 They should axe Cohiba to help improve the quality of all the other brands. What do you say comrades? I say "no", brother. 1
DrunkenMonkey Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I think they ought to cut all your favorite smokes so they can make more of my favorite smokes? 2
acidmase Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 i'm proud say i steered up the pot on this discussion lol
Skyfall Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Can there be a choice in the poll where Guants are either sprayed with Axe Body spray or a can of Axe Body spray is included in every box of Guants....It will make me feel better to know Guants are "Axed", so rando's that I know that travel to Mexico for vacation will stop spending their hard earned money to purchase and bring Guants back to give to me as gifts!!!
JohnS Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 i'm proud say i steered up the pot on this discussion lol You did but is that a bad thing? I learnt a lot from people's views and experiences in regards to the matter and I am appreciative of it.
