thecapo Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Is this common or has any seen this on their CC. This is from a box of Monti 2's second layer. I thinks it's Leporsy!
LordAnubis Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Leprosy... no way man !! That's ebola for sure!!!! I can't see any spots. My eye sight is crap though I can only see what i've normally thought were "oil stains" from areas where the oils have dried out or something. I dunno, that's the story i'm sticking with. Jsut smoke it
earthson Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 No worries - every leaf isn't Cohiba-perfect! Smoke away!
Hiram2011 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Feel free to send my way and I'll do some extensive testing for you brother ....all kidding aside it looks normal.
JohnS Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Definitely normal. Also, you'll find cigars sometimes with slightly discoloured spots on the wrapper too. That's normal too. 1
martymonty Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I understand your concern thecapo.... I have smoked my share of CC.... and the Monti2 is one of my favs. I have seen spots before, but me anyway, not that bad. Im sure if others say its normal they prob have seen it more than me, but I wouldn't be happy with them. Good luck
thecapo Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Smoked fine! All the input is always helpful for reassurance.
DropTopDee Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 The Monte especial no 2 I had definitely had those spots
DoubleDD Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 No worries - every leaf isn't Cohiba-perfect! Smoke away! So much for that Cohiba perfect leaf...look at the imperfections on this baby. QC guy must have went for a smoke break on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

Yeah, surely not perfect! Even after 9 years of smoking or so, I'm still trying to figure out whether excessive green/water spots affect flavor. I guess that suggests that it doesn't affect it too much? Still, for the premium they charge for Cohibas, you'd expect them to be perfect every time... which they are not... which is why I rarely buy any.
DoubleDD Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I agree. This is the only box of Cohibas I have. They are good cigars but cost is prohibitive. I just have a hard time dropping $500+ on Espys when I can grab a box of Sir Winstons and BPC. One day I will though. 1

This is only my palate, but Sir Winston > Esplendido RASS > Cohiba Robusto Rafael Gonzalez > Siglo 2 And for that matter Monte Especial #1 > Cohiba Lancero irrespective of price! 1
