Peacock Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Well, we have got it narrowed down to 8 teams... Cowboys vs. Green Bay....I think GB wins this one..I still think the Cowboys are a DeMarco Murray away from being 8 - 8, and I don't think the Cowboys can keep pace with GB. Baltimore vs. New England...I am going to go with NE. I think they are the second best team out there. Denver vs. Indianapolis...Going with Indianapolis. I think Payton Manning is one of the finest QB's of all time, but the Broncos have not been as consitent as they should be. Finally: Seahawks vs. Carolina....SEAHAWKS! Seattle has a very consistent, productive, if not humble offense, and has the best defense in football. Prediction: SUPERBOWL ... Seattle vs. New England...I think this would be the match up of the two best teams, and that's what the superbowl should be. I'll take the Seahawks to repeat as Super Bowl Champs. Randy
erjaq Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I don't know that I'm willing to predict an outright upset in GB, but I think Dallas gives the Pack a tough game. I don't like the situation with Rodgers, and GB's defense has been giving up huge chunks of yards when the game is on the line. Add in the fact that Dallas is a better road team (for whatever reason...) and I just feel a close game, if not an outright win. On the plus side for GB, the weather will be legit cold. Temps in the 40s and 30s are immaterial, I think, but they're looking at a kickoff temp in the single digits or just barely into the teens. That is definitely cold enough to throw a team off its game. The only other potential upset I see is the one you called -- Indy over Denver. As for the Superb Owl, it's hard for me to disagree with your choices -- Seattle vs. NE. No team left in the NFC is capable of beating Seattle in Seattle (Dallas did it once, but the Seahawks are playing much better now). And I tend to think NE is underrated, despite being the No. 1 seed in the AFC. They have a much better defense than they had for the other Brady/Belichick SB wins. Based on that, I'll call for a NE win.
iahawk36 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I'm a Cowboy fan myself, and would love to see them take GB down....but I don't know if they'll be able to do it. Romo is still the QB after all...
ha1fway Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 NE over Seattle in the superbowl At least I hope, I don't know that my relationship can handle a NE GB superbowl 1
JohnS Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Based on very recent form, it's hard to look past the Seahwaks and Patriots. I would rank the Broncos as a possible threat too. Having said this, one of the color commentators in the Cowboys-Lions game mentioned that "six of the past nine Super Bowl winners have been wild-card participants, meaning first-round byes don't guarantee you anything."
Washingtonskinnies Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Hardest game to pick this week is Indy/Denver. Either team could explode or implode. Carolina is getting 11 points on the spread, so i think everyone knows the expectation there.

partriar Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I think the GB v Dallas game could be very interesting. While i think GB will take this one i think it will be very close. The cold will only hinder Rodgers in this game with his hamstring. Im a massive NE fan and i think it will be NE over Seattle in a great SB. That being said im quite nervous about Ravens. I have no idea why, i think we have them cover in most aspects of the game, i just dont like playing Ravens, i always get nervous.
Fosgate Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Love my Broncos and they could make it. Manning has made it his mission to whoop Indy after his first meeting with them as a Bronco and many Indy fans rejoiced about his flogging on that first meeting. I really do not see Indy beating Denver this go around. If Denver gets their kinks worked out of their offense where it is hitting like mid season last year they will by all means win against the Patriots and in the Superbowl this time they have a formidable defense but it relies on the offense clicking and not keeping them on the field. Cowboys Is who I'm rooting for in the NFC. They are the underdogs and I love underdogs that are trash talked all season by commentators win and see how the commentators change their tune as they "I knew they were good...." Seattle may be the better team but being a fan of Denver for years and facing those humiliating losses and ridicule by commentators all up to the end of Elway's first Super Bowl win. Nothing I like better than commentators having to eat crow and with the teams they have to face to do in the end there would be no denying their legitimacy. Speaking of.. Anyone notice how Lions fans complain about the refs picking up the penalty flag on that pass interference against Dallas but had not problem with the NFL picking up penalty against Suh's suspension?
FLB03TT Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Regarding Broncos vs. Colts, I'm going with the current line of Broncos -7. I AM a Broncos fan. This game is in Denver, #1 and is the most important game in Manning's career. If the Broncos "implode" which they have done in some very big games, Manning's NFL career is probably over. That is not the way the franchise or Manning wants this run to end. I'm praying they come back into form and dominate against the Colts. Covering the line would be great, but a dominating win is what they need to give them a chance against New England at home.

He just has't been able to get it done when it counts the most. Luck has been getting it done. He certainly hasn't proven himself to be a superstar like Payton, but he is playing good smart football.
FLB03TT Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I'm just hopin' that Manning will be gooder and smarter in this matchup.
ogus Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Wow no thoughts of GB going deep? Wish it could be NC vs NE but...
in0gravity Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Here is my take on this: Broncos over Indy Baltimore in a close one over New England Dallas over Green Bay Seattle over Carolina After that, who knows. I am hoping that my Broncos will go all the way with Dallas as the preferred Super Bowl Opponent. regards Lars

SmittyinAZ Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Romo is no good in the frozen tundra. Pack win Watch out for the Ravens. win by 3 Seahwaks in an easy game. Broncos...barely.
Duxnutz Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Romo is no good in the frozen tundra. Pack win . THIS.
JohnnyO Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Cam is on a roll. No bad weather another lousy 12-9 game but Seattle goes down. Cowboys will be nipping at Rogers calf, at 70% he just couldn't match Romo. Its a close one, 31-27. In an unprecedented move, the league decides that just to be sure the Cowboys have to play an additional game vs Seattle as they don't hear anymore whining about bad calls from SB XL. Cowboys win again 23-3. Romo is too much for Cam, Cowboys win 35-17. Manning in Denver in January against a dome team? Broncos 34-21. It ends on a Luck Pick six. Brady/Belicheck at home. Gronk will be uncoverable as he scores 3 touchdowns and 127 yards. Pats 31-19. The league gets the most marketable matchup, Pats win 28-24. John
ha1fway Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Wow no thoughts of GB going deep? Wish it could be NC vs NE but... GB @ Seattle is a tough one, they haven't been spectacular on the road this year but I wouldn't expect a large spread either.
Bclass1 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Die hard Dallas fan... Much respect to GB and to Rodgers. An honest take from me would be that If Dallas can run the ball effectively, with minimal mistakes, it should be enough to beat GB considering Rodgers condition. I think Rodgers will still be effective, but the injury could slow him down enough for Dallas to capitalize.. Seattle has an easy road the NFC championship IMO. After that I have no clue.. DAL or GB up there is a great game and will boil down to just a handful of plays.
JohnS Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 20 minutes to go until the Baltimore Ravens - New England Patriots game. Are not the Patriots heavy favourites? It's hard to look past them!
cdfarrar Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Staying with my home team ... Cam and the running game will upset the Seahawks 1
JohnS Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Oh my gosh...wish I kept my mouth shut! Patriots better find form in the next quarter!
