stogieluver Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Ridiculous. The only cigar I would pay that much money for would be one given to me personally by Castro in an autographed box. 3
polarbear Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Wonder how long it will be til we see them in close out bins at 95% off 2
Baldy Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yep BS. Total marketing. Gurka type of marketing. Should have been named the Davidoff Jackoff. 3
garbandz Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Mis-named,should be "el Ripoff Maximo"... ...but it's only overpriced by $485.00,a dealer has to make a little something. I swear, it's time to throw the Davidoff cigars in the street and set them ablaze...........I believe there is a precedent for this. 1
laficion Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Hi everyone, They are saying to themslves,"Well what do you know,Some stupid people, do exist afterall". Guy 3
leftimatic Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Wonder how long it will be til we see them in close out bins at 95% off It will only be a matter of time, right next to the Ghurkas. Wonder if they will make CA's top cigar lists anytime soon. Hi everyone, They are saying to themslves,"Well what do you know,Some stupid people, do exist afterall". Guy And they are out there. Big card limits with very little brains. Yep BS. Total marketing. Gurka type of marketing. Should have been named the Davidoff Jackoff. That's the first thing I thought when I read it. Ghurka Ghurka Ghurka. Good thing I have a horrible pallet. Keeps me buying the cheap and cheerfuls. And living in ignorant bliss!
shlomo Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I wonder what the cut-off for overpriced cigars is....? Meaning, when does a cigar become stupid as opposed to just expensive?
... Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I wonder what the cut-off for overpriced cigars is....? Meaning, when does a cigar become stupid as opposed to just expensive? My guess would be around 50$ each duty free...
Puros Y Vino Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 You know. If they had Cuban tobacco leftover from the old days and tried this, they might have a chance. Or even if they rebranded their vintage Cuban stuff they have socked away and marketed it everywhere but the US, they'd be on to something. But Dominican tobacco from 2002? Pfftt!! I'm sure there are plenty of Dominican cigars rolled in 2002 gathering dust on shelves. cough cough RedDot! cough cough... This is an absurd marketing ploy. 1
shlomo Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My guess would be around 50$ each duty free... There is no right or wrong answer. It is very individual. For me around $25 is my cut-off for a recent production, unproven cigar. Even $20 is crazy imo.

I am referring more to these brand spanking new stuff coming out in ELs, REs, NCs, etc...Mmmhh, let me know if you ever feel like only smoking coronas and lonsdales as well, I'll send the exorcism party your way to deal with a piggie possession
sengjc Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I might be dumb but I'm not stupid. I might be stoopid but I am not that stupeed.
ErikB Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I'd rather pay 20 Euros for a regular production CC than receive this Davidoff cigar for free
cigarbreak Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Straight non sense. You could market it with the finest prose saying it uses this and that, but at 500$ per stick...unless it gets me buzzed for a week or can transport me into the future, or give me super powers, then i'll stick the fine Cubans we already enjoy which many times can produce flavour experiences that are priceless. 1
Baldy Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I'd rather pay 20 Euros for a regular production CC than receive this Davidoff cigar for free For what our hosts charge for a box of BPC it comes out to $4.80/stick. I'd much prefer that.
ErikB Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Yes the point is I'd rather pay for a CC than.. etc.. 1
sw15825 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Over 20$ starts to hurt for me. It also depends on size some larger things and discontinued old/rare, I can understand, but thats different. But every day sticks 15 to 20$. I feel habanos has the marketing gimmick to create LEs and REs in more limited runs to create a rarity but they get too steep buying them out of markets imo. I think the 10 count box is the new gimmick also. Smaller packaging becoming more the norm. Seems cheaper till u break down to per stick cost. But they will charge as much as people will pay. But I can only think someone with more money than sense would dish out 500$ for these!! Just my two cents. 1
