About 2 weeks ago I decided that I am not saving cigars for special day anymore. If it's ready to smoke its ready.

How about you?

A Cigar is only special after you smoke it!

This is brilliant. I've been let down by so many cigars I thought were going to be special. That is until I smoked them and realized they weren't.

I want to say that I don't save cigars for special occasions, and maybe I don't.....but I do.

I won't dip into any of my impossible to replace cigars without having a special reason for it. I wont save forever, maybe not even for a long time, but there has to be a reason.

I have smoked some great cigars at local gatherings or with friends at their places or my own, and thats reason enough. But if its just a lazy Tuesday afternoon by myself while reading my book, chances are I'm not smoking a CGR in the garage....

I don't know. I've got some cigs over 15 years old... and not too many of them left!

I have a SLR serie A that is my oldest cigar and is not meeting a match until the day I retire. Everything else is fair game.

I save some, but barely anything is off limits. If I'm feeling like a double corona, I have one. Can't worry about if I'm having it too soon. Just gotta live life.

Depends on the day.

Some nights I only smoke the crappiest stuff I have, just to "Thin" the humidor and keep the good smokes ready for the special times.

Then some nights, I'll smoke a cigar while mowing the lawn and grab one of my best.

I can't make up my mind, but if I had to pick a side I'd say I smoke the lower end stuffs first to keep the expensive stuffs ready for big occasions.

No Special Cigars here. The only thing I don't like is smoking alone!

I'm definitely guilty of being a cigar hoarder. I keep telling myself certain cigars are for a special occasion, but then I can't seem to find an occasion special enough.

I have some cigars that have been real crackers. Those I tend to save, not for special occasions, but for when I need a good pick me up. Nothing like unwinding from a really bad day/week with a cigar that you know will be great.

And if it turns out not to be great... just reach into the humidor for another. ok.gif

Nope, I smoke without prejudice.....actually I don't have any worth saving.

I separate and I age but still have run of the mill sticks on those occasions that one would deem special. I haven't enforced an attitude to smoke the good stuff yet maybe something will change.

When 2000 hit and the concept of special cigars started in the habano world I was really bad about saving sticks as "they could never be had again".

I built up my stash to about 3500 sticks and one day I was looking for a stick and all I had were Jose Piedras and a ton of "special cigars". Massively frustrating to guess if "tuesday" was a good enough day for a Monte Milli Jar.

So I dialed up some friends and invited them over to start enjoying the stash.

Basically since then I only keep things that need age, otherwise everything is up for grabs....maybe save something for a buddy if I am down to a few sticks I know they like.

I have about 10 boxes of cigars put away that are for special occasions, these are rare boxes that were either gifted to me, or are aging!

Every day is a special day till we die. My grabs are upon the mood. If its behike then it is, in a mood and have time for winnie just go ahead. However when we get some special day (birthday or anniversary or whatever) I try to go with some real goodies.

I try to have something special at least twice a month, and on occasions that call for something extra nice................

The ones I do not touch are ageing a bit longer, some are special, some just young.

Any day I smoke a good cigar is a special day.

The only cigar I've saved is the one I bought when my youngest son was born. 19 yrs later, about two months ago, when he moved out and started his university studies, I gave it to him. It was a crap cigar from 1995, but very special to us.

I have a handful of special cigars and special box codes that are anniversary smokes to pull out each year for my dad's passing and my son's birthday.
