So the wife embarked on a 5 week journey mostly in Mexico but is spending the night in Cuba tonight. She is staying at the normal casa in Miramar and since I have nothing better to do I thought I would smoke a cigar that the owner of said casa gifted to me sometime back. Its not the prettiest example and its details are unknown to me. Its roughly 56x6. For the record by now she is likely at El Aljibe and I will be eating leftovers.

Being paired with some Diplomatico Rum (Venezuela) and water.

Cold draw is mild earth and a medium draw.

I will be back shortly with more updates.

It's very nice out this evening so I'm going back and forth from working at the dining table to sitting on the deck

First impressions are this is a milder smoke but I'm just moving towards the first third. Lots of earthy and honey notes.

Approaching the 1/3 mark. Could have sworn I picked up an oatmeal note on retro hale. Picking up bit of strength now. Good smoke.

I generally love gifting cigars more than having them gifted to me. I know I will feel bad if I ditch it cuz it's bad.

This one is getting very good. Somewhere near the halfway mark and it's building up steam and has cocoa notes.

Heading into the final third or so. Enjoying the heck out of this cigar and wish I could get more.

Enjoyed sharing this with you.

Nicely done. How was the rum?

I quite liked it. Had a poker game here a few months and a friend left it 1/3 full. Last week I had an interesting rum from Guyana but I don't recall the name.

Zacapa is still my on island go to. So much of the supply here is understandably Jamaican. Some of nose are good but it doesn't quite match my palate.

Thanks for the review! One hell of a view you got there. When the wife's away the boys will play!
