About a quarter, mostly prefer corona/petit corona sizes for both time and flavour reasons but sometimes I do just like a robusto if I want a cigar in the background eg if reading a book or BBQing Th

ken and I had a good discussion on this in todays video review. ...not that I can recall much.

It's climbing. To about 1/3 now. Been buying more lately as have been getting good experiences in the construction and flavor departments in the RASS, Connie 1, Epi 2 and JL 1. Just bought a box of BRC so hopefully the good times keep rolling.

My inventory percentage of cigars with a ring gauge 48 and over has diminished from 75% on March 1st this year to 47% today, June 5th. There's been many great churchill deals lately!

Posted

47%, was surprised that it is that much because i dont have that much robustos (just one box of hermoso #4)

I own a good deal of over 48 rg cigars. Probably 60% if my collection. Mostly due to my collection of robustos and piramides. I actually favor 42-48 ring gauge but have been amassing a collection of robustos lately. I end up smoking my corona gordas faster than any other sticks which skews the statistics...

Posted

50%...While the Corona Gorda is my absolute favorite vitola and dominates my humidor I almost always some have Robustos, Piramides, Genios and a few DCs on hand.

Posted

25% or less for me. Corona Gordas are the boxes I buy most frequently. I do love DC and #2 cigars, but 70 to 75% of boxes I have are CG, PC Dalias/Lonsdales.

Posted

A rough guesstimate would be about 60% - My preferred range is from 44-54,anything >54 is out simply from the comfort aspect. What I'd really love to see is a regular production Bolivar CG....I'd fall on those like a fat kid on a cream cake!! I'm not going to hold my breath on that one though since they saw fit to axe the Coronas Extras, that decision still bemuses me!

Don't typically like anything over 50. Torpedoes are a bit tricky, size wise, but I'm not the biggest Torpedo fan either. My sweet spot is

42-46. Keep thinking about the perfection of a good Mag. 46.

I smoke a lot of 50 RG robustos, so that is why I'd say ~50% of my cabinet is over 48 RG.

...but, I am NOT a fan of the goofy 60+ RG sticks you see from time to time. Just ridiculous, IMHO....

About 85-90%. Love the Bellicoso/torpedo, though I see myself slowly but surely gravitating toward the 48 RG.

Just did a count of my inventory and found the same. I'm going through a Robusto phase now, but I'm not adverse to enjoying a classing 42 ring gauge Corona or Lonsdale vitola.

I have noticed that that H.S.A has been favouring/marketing bigger ring gauge cigars recently.

My inventory percentage of cigars with a ring gauge 48 and over has diminished from 75% on March 1st this year to 47% today, June 5th. There's been many great churchill deals lately!

I've had another look this morning...and I am amazed how consistent the percentages are across my 'go to' and 'long-term' inventories. My 'go-to' inventory is exactly 50% and my 'long-term' inventory is 49.9%.

However, I have quite a few cigars in the Robusto range that I would not have acquired (possibly) if given petit corona/corona options. The definition of a standard ring gauge cigar is between 40 to 46 ring gauge, yet, with the change in trends in regards to cigar sizes, I wonder if cigars up to 50 ring gauge should fall within a standard ring gauge, especially as we are seeing new/recent releases such as the H.Upmann Magnum 56 LE, Cohiba Robusto Supremo LE and the Cohiba 50° Aniversario becoming the 'norm'.

My inventory above 50 ring gauge is similarly consistent. My 'go to' inventory is currently at 35% and my 'long-term' inventory is at 33% (yes, exactly one-third). Yet, despite the fact that I prefer standard ring gauge cigars mostly, I make no apologies for acquiring what I see as must-have stock such as Diplomatico No.2's, H.Upmann No.2's, Montecristo No.2's and Cohiba Piramides Extra and Siglo VI's.

I'm not embarrassed to say around half.

Though they're the slower moving cigars

I've probably been smoking three 48s and down to each 1 up of 48s... Over the last three years.

That's actually what should be the question.. Smoking ratio

3-1 smaller

About 40% as well, but if I could do it over it would be 20% or less. Naturally, hindsight is 20/20

I have three boxes of cigars in my desktop.

Upmann Monarchs (47RG) so just flies under

PSD4(50RG)

BBF (52RG - but I always snip at maybe 42/44RG

Don't have alot of time to smoke, so don't have a lot of larger smokes. Some Monte2, just got a box of Mag50 and some old duds from fire sales....SLR Churchill and Punch double corona. Shame because they have potential but are so plugged up they are not smokeable.

I would say mine is about 15%. Most of mine are in the 38-42 range. I really like the Dalia and Laguito #2 vitolas, too bad there aren't too many cigars in these sizes.

10-15 Percent not much more than that! I prefer a ring gage of 42-48 anything over a 50 ring gage is to big with an exception of Upmann #2 and VR Unicos.

Posted

i have 47% under 48 ring gauge (mainly between 33 and 42 ring gauge)

53 % are over 48 ring gauge (between 48 and 52 gauge) so fairly evenly split.

Interestingly, I have 7 marcas over 48 ring gauge and only 3 marcas under 48 ring gauge.

As to preference, I can't say either way, i like both.
