Fuzz AI Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Sad to hear that Richard Attenborough has passed away after a long illness, aged 90. RIP
MIKA27 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 He was truly a legend. He has so many great movies but I loved him in the Great Escape as well as Jurassic park. The later may not be as accomplished a work to his other credits, but I love family movies like JP and watch them often with the kids. R.I.P
CaptainQuintero Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 RIP, I could have sworn that he already died a few years back already :s is this age creeping up on me? The Great Escape A Bridge Too Far Oh What A Lovely War Gandhi Epic films
PigFish Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Great actor. You guys should look up Flight of the Phoenix… 2
PigFish Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I know that a lot of younger folks don't know he was famous for his work both sides of the camera. As CQ pointed out, movies like A Bridge too Far, one of my favorites was a movie he directed. Won an oscar for Gandhi… He was also excellent in the movie the Sand Pebbles; another great movie. Damn shame that actors seem to be picked on brawn and bust lines these days… The greats will never be replaced! -Piggy 2
OZCUBAN Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Also 10 Rillington place is a good film, a great talent gone but a good innings nonetheless less RIP
Pedro2486 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 My favorite movie of all time is The Great Escape. Funny thing is the tape I used to have on it ended not long after Steve macqueen jumps the fence (it was damaged). I bought it on DVD this year. OH MY GOD THEY ALL GET SHOT WTF?!?!?!!? Worst ending ever, I want my old tape back where everyone lives happily ever after RIP Mr Attenborough 1
cigcars Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I loved his making of "Ghandi". That was truly a work of love
winelover Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Also loved A Bridge Too Far. Extra authenticity brought about by his wartime participation
