garbandz Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Here are some tomatoes from my garden.......... and here is Frankenmater!!!
Ginseng Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 That is, hands-down, the scariest looking vegetable I've ever seen in my life. So what's on the inside? Multiple spleens and livers? A half completed "Thing" replica of your dog? Wilkey 2
garbandz Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Another view.......... maybe we shouldn't have built our house so close to the Toxic Waste Dump...............
wookiemofo Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Cut that thing open! The inside has to be some crazy network of something...
thebigk Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Another view.......... maybe we shouldn't have built our house so close to the Toxic Waste Dump............... What kind of tomato is that? Brandywine
paulF Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 They look like our mountain Tomatoes... They taste awesome although not too sure about the one in the second photo!
ogus Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 quick save your cigars and cover those red things in Duke's Mayo now!
BonVivant Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Frankenmater 001.JPGHere are some tomatoes from my garden.......... and here is Frankenmater!!! Please, do not open the box of QdO - I had enough 2
TypicalSituation Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 It's a TomaccoLove it. One of my favorite episodes ever
cigcars Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Hmmmm....somehow I don't think you should chance eating that. If you want to go to the animal shelter and adopt a bunny - and see what happens to it! Who knows; instead of you guys thinking, "Why cigcars, how COULD you suggest such a thing - you animal hater, you!!" MAYBE the rabbit will become a new "Curse of the WereRabbit" courtesy of Nick Park and Steve Box
Iron1 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Thats one wild looking tomato! I would like to see the inside of that.
mk05 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Those are some beautiful heirlooms. There's a farmer's market every Tuesday here and these are much sweeter than the commercialized strains of tomatoes.
... Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Garbandz, do you grow other fruits/vegetables? Super curious about seeing what kind of results you get with other stuff
TM-US Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 You guys are funny. That's an heirloom tomato, don't knock it until you've tried it.
wookiemofo Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 He hasn't responded to this thread in a while... I wonder if the Frankenmater grew over night and ate him.
AndrewNR Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah seriously.. Time to move house. Interesting ripening.. Bet they're damn tasty. I was gifted a tomato plant from an italian recently.. I was assured the plant had been passed down through seedling since mama and papa came over from mother land.. or something like that.. any way, Damn tasty, damn ugly!
SaintLuis Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Tomatoes are actually a pretty ugly fruit. Only through all the modern hybrid development have we arrived a nice even globe shaped fruit. The modern hybrids unfortunately make less sugar, which is why the heirloom fad is getting hot. Good looking fruit! Up here in New England, only the smalls and early varieties are ready. Lots of big green fruit though! Enjoy that sucker. What a beast.
