I think EL's get a bad rap around here. Or at least worse than I think is deserving. I tend to like the EL productions fro most (hardly all), but have an affinity for Partagas and Montecristo. They've nailed 'em more often than not IMO.

I think Hoyo has produced some very nice ELs over the years, namely the 03 Piramides and 07 Regalos

Oh lord! Honestly, I kept Hoyo off my list because of how terrible the Regalos was for me.

Mind you, the Short Pirimides was fantastic. For 8 bucks each, almost completely unbeatable compared to most sticks!

Not to belabor the point, but for me it's a simple matter of respecting the wishes of the forum owner.

That aside, as members have mentioned, according to "The Company", the only cigars processed as maduro have been the Cohibas. If merchants are using the term for other cigars, I guess it's on them. Yes, much of this can be a bit confusing......

as far as i knowis that the cubans don't really pay much attention to what colour which wrapper has. it doesn't get hyped like in the other cigar countries. simple as that.

It's true that some regular production sticks (D4s abide by this) would definitely look maduro by NC standards. But taste equal to their colorado claro brothers.
