Guest Robo Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 My wife surprised me with a Xikar 50-80 travel humidor for our Anniversary. I'm in love! I couldn't wait to fill it up Celebrated the milestone with a UPE FEB 13 Upmann Magnum 46
Hypersomniac Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I was hoping to read that it came filled with the cigars that are in your picture. Nice gift!
westg Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I have one as well, perfect for travelling keeping your cigars fresh and free from damage...nice gift
Paul3 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I love this box. I've carried mine on many a deployment. Perfect size for an adequate supply of cigars, the pressure relief valve is great after flying MILAIR, and you can't beat the protection of the hard case. I also like the fact that it is just wide enough, unlike smaller count versions, to fit two cigars in the same row, pending the vitola of course. Great gift. Cheers
Maplepie Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 very very nice Robs! Always dreamed of getting one of these but i barely smoke enough for that. Fantastic little hard case..... out runs even some people's humidors!
PapaDisco Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Damn! That's a fine woman! Call me if you ever get divorced! ;-) 1
Diamondog Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Have this case myself, excellent pickup....nothing says your serious about smoking cigars better than when you show up at your local lounge or HERF with one of these bad boys filled up lol
CUBANO Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Very Nice, and Congrats. I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks, can I borrow it filled with the cigars in the picture?
sheppsea Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Very nice - it looks great! How well does it work? I've been thinking of getting one for a while now
Guest Robo Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Very Nice, and Congrats. I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks, can I borrow it filled with the cigars in the picture? Sure, and I'll watch your stash for you while you're gone.
LeafLover Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I won't fill mine completely with cigars. I'll put a flask and my lighters and cutter in it to.
AndrewNR Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Looks great but damn that's a 12month supply for me
AussieCanuck Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Awesome gift ! I headed down to the post office today to pick up some RASS that I had ordered from the 12:12:12 sales a few weeks ago. When I got there the ladies mentioned another parcel was awaiting pick up. I took it home and called my far better half and she said ' oh, that must be the thing I ordered for you' . Ripped the parcel open and it was a 40ct travel Humi ! Got to love awesome wives ! The cigars looked pretty tasty too ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Pedro2486 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Nice. I have a 15 stick xicar that travels everywhere with me. Question. What does everyone use for humidification in their travel humis?
Guest Robo Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Nice. I have a 15 stick xicar that travels everywhere with me. Question. What does everyone use for humidification in their travel humis? I use 65% humidity beads that I got from Heartfelt Industries. Works really well. You can see it in my second picture, on the same tray as all the Serie D No. 4. They also sell humidity sheets, which might be the best bet for your 15ct humidor. Rob
BBS Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I use Bovida packs in my travel humidors, and they work fantastically. I've filled my big travel humidor and shipped it across the country when I'm traveling to a big herf. Never a problem. I put two packs in vertically on the left and right sides.....never a problem, easy to recommend.
asmartbull Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Just an FYI, Bovey a now makes a 62 rh pack.....just a byproduct of the legalization of pot sent while mobile....
Pedro2486 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Funnily enough I just bought a box of 62rh bovedas. I use two of them in mine, one on top and one on the bottom
