Maplepie Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 I bought three boxes. I was going to keep one and stash away the other two because of the misspelling figuring maybe they would be worth something down the road. that's what i thought, initially... but like the post above me says, they're being snapped up by so much and being put away by so many that it'll take 5-10 years before they're actually going to be worth twice its value... and that'd only be because of their age. Ah well......
Pedro2486 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I tried my first yesterday at the perth get together and I was not very impressed. The draw was tight and the burn tunnelled deeply in the centre leaving binder/wrapper behind. The wrapper also was splitting a little in a few spots which was strange (stored at 62rh, dry boxed for 24hrs, ambient humidity was no more than 50). I'd say there was flaws in construction which pretty much killed what I should've been getting from it, another shall be on the cards to try again

Maplepie Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Pedro: that's a real shame. Any idea if it was a Jul or Jan box? Sent from my BlackBerry Q10 using Tapatalk for Android.

Purchased from a B&M who removes sticks from the boxes and stores in trays. If I guess I'd say it would be mid to late 2013 basing on how their stock comes thru 1
BonVivant Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 May I suggest buying full boxes to know what you've got - just a thought Sorry about the plugged cigar - Cuba is Cuba
busdriver Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Wanted to spark this thread up again since the connie a's have been on the 24:24 several times recently. I purchased a box and was expecting a '14 box code but got an LUB ABR 15 box. Has anyone tried these? If so how are they comparing with previous years? 1
LLC Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I picked up a couple of boxes last week in Havana and the one that was LUB ABR 15 was the better looking of the two. Still have some other boxes to work through before I get to these but from what I can see of mine, they look great.

busdriver Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 It's not a bad cigar but definitely not in the same league as Sir W. Certainly not worth it's premium pricing. The pricing is certainly premium. I have high hopes for the box. I will post whrn i try one.
LLC Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Maybe I'm misunderstanding about the premium pricing but Sir Winnie's are 70% more expensive in Cuba than Connie A's.
TheMonk Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Connie A is actually a great smoke for me, and somewhat worth the premium - specially as the premium isn't as big as with other recent releases. This one and the Mag 50 are two of my all round favorite smokes, from any marca. 2
Slyclient Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Just blind bought a box. I can't wait for it to arrive. How are they smoking these days? 1
SipIt Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Just blind bought a box. I can't wait for it to arrive. How are they smoking these days? Just had my last one a couple weeks ago, so ordered another box LUB ENE 14. Great stick. 1
Belicoso Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Was thinking about buying a box of these from a friend. Dic 13. This sounds like a batch from one of the first go arounds.

For me, I'd try to get some with as much age as possible just to see how they're coming along. I'd grab 13 or 14 all day.
