And after the game-winning play and then the post-game interview, I have a new favorite cornerback, too.

These two teams deserve to be there. It's going to be a fantastic game; I can hardly wait. If Seattle can run the ball against Denver, they should be able to take care of business, but we'll see.

AFC game was boring as hell. NFC game, screw both of those teams.

Seeing Bowman go down with the ACL tear though really stung, love watching him play. Hope he recovers well

Seahawks fans booed and threw popcorn at Bowman as he was being carted off the field. Way to be classy, Seattle! And Seahawk fans take umbrage with being labeled the most annoying in the league.

without being attached to either team, must say i thought the way they acted was really poor. for that alone, would prefer the broncos.

but mostly i think peyton deserves it. hate to see him finish with the same number of superbowl rings as someone like trent dilfer (whom i am sure is a nice person but really not quite the level of manning snr).

If Sherman wasn't such a classless act and if Seahawks fans showed a little more respect (throwing popcorn at Bowman??), I'd be happy for the Seahawks for winning. From that game, it was obvious that SF was the better team.

Moving forward, some change comes to that 12th man. Decibel level was reportedly 135 dB (and that's not just from the fans, but the stadium using speakers for amplification).

I'm not a fan of either team. Both teams are pretty damn good this year. However, trust me, Peyton is going to dismantle them and completely embarrass Sherman.

I am a lover of great "D's". i have been lucky enough to coach against great offenses all my coaching life (albeit Rugby). In the end it comes back to taking away space and time .

Go Seahawks party.gif

It's Peyton F'ing Manning!!!! Have you watched him this season??? (I have a client on the Bronco's O-Line) so, Go Broncos!!!

The Hawks D is good, but not good enough to not look like children against Peyton.

this made no difference in the game as they got the ball back anyway during the very next play if you watched the game

I watched the game. One thing I know from working in and around sports marketing and watching a wide range of sports is that momentum on the sports field can make a huge difference. It's just my opinion but I believe if the call was made in the 49ers favour they would have ran with that momentum and won. But it's all pie in the sky stuff now. Besides I have money in a syndicate with mates who have had a bet on the Seahawks to go all the way. Although, from the outside looking in I personally feel the Broncos will edge them out. Hopefully it's a great game.

I love the Seahawks defense. It's almost a throwback to a bygone era with their physicality. But I've gotten to where I can't stand Richard Sherman. Yes, he probably is the best cornerback in the NFL right now but his act wears thin on me. He had a wonderful chance after the game to make that situation about the accomplishment his team had just made, but instead he made it all about himself. I do respect him for calling out the classless fans that threw food on Bowman as he was carted off the field. But, when you make it a habit to act classless on and off the field, how do you expect your fans to react?

That's right, it's Sherman's fault that a few Seattle fans acted like morons.

I get it that his clown act rubs some people the wrong way (by design, I suspect). But I thought it was hilarious. It didn't actually damage national security. He's a football player.

Did I say it was his fault? I never assigned blame to him and yes, last I checked, national security was not adversely affected laugh.png . They are all adults (presumably) and responsible for their own behavior. My point was merely that if you model certain behaviors then generally some people will start to exhibit the same behaviors. Is it Sherman's fault? No, not hardly. I just thought it was ironic, is all.

I do agree with you that some of his act is by "design." When his playing day's are over he would make a great heel in professional wrestling. lol3.gif

Good lord... where to start with this? There is so much BH on this thread. Some of you people are truly amazing. As a friend (who doesn't like sports at all and only came to this conclusion by reading all of the posts regarding this Sherman issue on his Facebook page) stated, "[t]he amount of Hurt Feelings Reports that need to be filled out because of him would fill a warehouse." I have attached one such report for your future reference.

Let's look at Sherman first. I can't believe I'm doing this, but please refer to this post at huffpo since Issac Saul wrote up a piece that really covers everything. (And I pretty much hate huffpo, but I'm giving them credit where it's due here.)

http://www.huffingto..._b_4631980.html

And then yesterday Sherman wrote a piece that describes what happened and why:

http://mmqb.si.com/2...chael-crabtree/

And now... let's talk about the whining some of you have been doing concerning the Bowman injury and the popcorn being tossed at Bowman while he was being carted off.

For starters, you people are making ignorant conclusions without having any context at all. Bowman... this piece of crap player has a pretty big history with the Seahawks fans. Here's just one example of the douchebag pretending he's going to sign a fan's poster and then tearing it up instead before the game last December:

And the way some of you people whine and moan you'd think that every single one of the ~67,000 fans in attendance must have been raining unopened tins of popcorn down upon the stricken Bowman. Hmm... let the video roll, please:

http://youtu.be/KFnbkTXN6PE

Fans throwing popcorn? Fans? Plural? Please. At the absolute worst it looks like one person dropped a handful of popcorn on that piece of crap. Hardly the same as what some of you have pumped it up to be. And, as you'll notice, it's going into the tunnel right where he ripped the fan's poster the year before. The way season tickets work, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn that the fan who dropped that popcorn was the same fan whose poster was torn up by Bowman the season prior. At the very least, I bet the unknown popcorn assailant was there when Bowman did that.

But you whiners... please go on... please speak like you have any understanding of this issue at all. Condemn an entire city's fan base because of the actions of one person who dropped a harmless amount of popcorn upon a player who has gone out of his way to mix it up with the fans before. Worst fans in the league? Whatever. It's something the 12th Man can live with because the 12th Man doesn't really care about some of you people who are too quick to judge and not quick enough to actually learn what's really going on. Because research hurts. Boo hoo.

Now... please go fill out those Hurt Feelings reports.

Cheers,

~ Greg ~

Basically this.

Sherman is smarter than us. He knows exactly what he's doing. I don't understand the vitriol for the guy. Did he cuss out EA? Go home and beat his wife/girlfriend? Shoot up a nightclub? Murder someone? Jesus, Pac-Man doesn't get this kind of viral heat and he's a common criminal. People are just mad because he's a smarter trash talker, who backs up every word. Give it a rest already.

And as far as the SB goes. You can just say goodbye to Demaryius Thomas for 60 mins.

I wonder how Peyton will be able to deliver any strikes from a collapsing pocket? He can only move laterally about a foot before he goes down.

I remember when I was a kid hearing old men complaining about Muhammad Ali; about how he was undignified, thought all his trash talk somehow reflected badly on the honorable sport of boxing. Whatever. Too much irony to address.

Anyway, didn't Ali say it's not bragging if it's true?

Seattle is going to get ripped apart by Petyon Manning. He and his offense are FAR too good. Colin Kapernick is not a good QB. Evidence of his incompetence was on full display with his horrible INT and massive amount of rushing yards. The kid can't make multiple reads. If his first read isn't open he tries to force it in or runs. Peyton has Decker, Thomas, Thomas and Welker and will progress thru all of his reads and find an open guy. If they aren't open he'll dump it off to one of his two very good RBs. Seattle's defense is great and they have forced teams to beat their talent, but their defense is very basic. Peyton is most likely the smartest NFL QB in the history of the NFL and he has an amazing O-line to protect him. Denver by 2 TDs.

I'll take Seattle +14 for every cigar in my collection right now and throw in free shipping.

They played Drew Brees twice at home otherwise look at their schedule and tell me who they played who is even close to Peyton Manning and his offense? Superman Cam? Might as well be another Kapernick with a slightly better arm. Who else? Maybe the disaster which was Matt Ryan? Or how about Andrew Luck? Wait, they lost to Andrew luck who put up 34 points on them with T.Y. Hilton lighting up Mr. Sherman. The rest of their schedule was a joke! They lost to Arizona at home with Carson Palmer in the first year with a Bruce Arians offense . . . Indy connection. Denver is going to look at the AZ and Indy film very closely to see how to handle Mr. Wilson and crew. The wildcard is the weather, but Denver has proved they can throw in bad weather and run the ball.

I too am amazed at the press Sherman is getting. Yep, he was pumped full of adrenaline after making the biggest play, in the biggest game of the year to take his team to the SuperBowl, and spewed some testosterone driven truth. I think he could have been a bit more reserved, but I get it. No big deal...I was more dismayed with the "choke" sign he directed at Colon Pumpernickle.

I agree that Manning is a good/great qb. He has a decent O line. He has some decent receivers. They have a decent defense.

That said, he is not a mobile qb. At all. He will feel pressure. His receivers will be covered.

Should be a good game. I like the Hawks chances.

GO HAWKS!!!

Ok then. How about a box of RASS?

ahhhh...it's football people.

let's review some core facts:looking.gif

1. Football Players directly after a game are not necessarilly the best public speakers.

2. Football Players are not necessarilly "Role models"

3. Fan bases in a stadium will include everyone from rednecks to corporate's (not mutually exclusive) and everything in between. Not all saint's, not all sinners.

We don't call people ignorant or whiners here. If you want to do so then head off to your teams website and post on their forum. Here you present an argument rebutting what you perceive to be a mistake.

If anyone needs the above clarified then take a break.

Sorry, Rob. I shouldn't have called people "whiners." It's just frustrating hearing all these people (everywhere, not just on FoH) trashing our Seattle fans without knowing all the info and also making blanket accusations against one of our best players because of one brief episode after a pretty big play.

You're right - it's only football. No need for anyone, myself included, to get in a snit because of a game. So I shall endeavor to be less reactive to perceived insults in the future.

Manning was not sacked once in the NE game. I think the Bronco's offensive line is up to the task.
