Orion21 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Yes, but obviously the pricing policy for the LCDH releases is different from that of the Regional programme (is it related to quality of the tobacco used, or to the commercial relationship with the franchise, or whatever else, I don't know). I can't imagine the quality is any less. I have thought the LCDH releases over the past couple of years have been amazing, especially the RA Superiores. Then again it comes down to taste, but the blend of the RAS has been very much to my liking. I am looking forward to trying my first Connie A in a couple of weeks.
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 No secrets, just standard non-LCDH euro prices
Smallclub Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I can't imagine the quality is any less. I agree, and there is another good one, that is still under the radar: the Hoyo Epicure de Luxe.
in0gravity Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The pricing model has changed in the last couple of years. If they go with 10 count packaging expect a high price. Again, they will come 25 count varnished boxes like the old ones. And expect a price beween 20 - 25 EUR per cigar. Just my guess.

And they will sell out. I know a couple of guys who will more than likely try to buy as many boxes as they can (assuming they don't get horrible reviews).
Smallclub Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 At 20 - 25 € per cigar they can stock them in a specific part of they anatomy…
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Safe to assume that if at that price they are being marketed at being exported. Smart move if regionals are money up front deals for distributors; pick a discontinued cigar that have lots of stroke power, whack up the profit margin and sell overseas to people prepared to meet a stroke premium
in0gravity Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Safe to assume that if at that price they are being marketed at being exported. How can it be marketed for export? I mean the La Flor de Cano Gran Cano is also exclusively made for the UK Market and not for export, or not? Or any other Regional for that matter.
in0gravity Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 And they will sell out. I know a couple of guys who will more than likely try to buy as many boxes as they can (assuming they don't get horrible reviews). No question. I assume this will be the fastest selling German ER ever.
in0gravity Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 At 20 - 25 € per cigar they can stock them in a specific part of they anatomy… Only to be sold in shiny jars later on should they not sell fast

I mean the La Flor de Cano Gran Cano is also exclusively made for the UK Market and not for export, or not? Or any other Regional for that matter. The distributors sell their regionals to whoever will buy them regardless of country, be it individuals or other cigar retailers. Eg the russian distributor could make a diplomatico lancero and charge 500% on what they would usually charge on their REs and watch them fly out to the US etc Look at the UK magnificos and Italian la excepcions
Smallclub Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I know a couple of guys who will more than likely try to buy as many boxes as they can (assuming they don't get horrible reviews). When you realize how many "nothing special" REs were put on the market these recent years, this is really a fashion victim teenager behaviour…
ramon_cojones Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 oh you meant euros, of course i picked some up for not much more than that in usd will try the epli de lux, thought you didn't like short and fats frank?
Orion21 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Agreed. I haven't bought an RE since the La Escepción Selectos Finos, which are amazing and also very expensive. Overall, the best regional I have smoked is the Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos and those were less than $10 a cigar when available. The days of pricing like that are long gone.
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 LFDC short robusto now are around £27 each in the UK, crazy price
Bahnofstrasse Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Sorry but I havn't heard anything about (even rumours) about the release of the RG PP. Should I send you a PM when something happened? Yeah I like the VR Petite Unicos - wrote a review in FoH - nice little stick. Thank you for the great pic. Yes please do send me a PM when/if they come in. An RG blend in that type of format should be delightful... I will do a search and check out your review on the VR PU. Rauchen gut!
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 A friend of mine has two boxes reserved as of yesterday so I'm guessing they will be here soon as the retailer didnt want to take reserves without knowing if stock was on the way
oliverdst Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The distributors sell their regionals to whoever will buy them regardless of country, be it individuals or other cigar retailers. Captain, are you positive sure about that?
Orion21 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 It happens. Rob had Canadian Re on here last year. They make their way thru the system.
oliverdst Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 It happens. Rob had Canadian Re on here last year. They make their way thru the system. I know we can find some Regionals outside its region but I think if it was to whoever they want we would see much more vendors selling many of them.
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I know we can find some Regionals outside its region but I think if it was to whoever they want we would see much more vendors selling many of them. Some retailers have every regional going, money and connections talks, I'm sure business ethics come into play in order to get different regionals too, just spend the time to get to know which retailers deserve your coin not purely on what they stock
polarbear Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 A friend of mine has two boxes reserved as of yesterday so I'm guessing they will be here soon as the retailer didnt want to take reserves without knowing if stock was on the way Dont spose he was able to get a solid price for them before he put his name down?
CaptainQuintero Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Dont spose he was able to get a solid price for them before he put his name down? He didnt say but he out his name down for two boxes so I think the price will be reasonable; less than the bolivar especial #2 I'd guess
