Ken Gargett Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 2014 is the 50th anniversary of ian fleming's death. so we can expect to see endless bond stuff - and too much 007 is never enough (though i still can't come at the books by other authors). i understand that the BBC will show a mini-series about fleming later in the year. one to look forward to.
canadianbeaver Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 We have the compilation of all the 007 songs in our music mix. Great!
PapaDisco Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 We have the compilation of all the 007 songs in our music mix. Great! Hey Beav, Is that floating around somewhere on this site? Or was that a "Royal" "We" you were using?
Skyfall Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Ken, you should really read SOLO, but regardless, there is a Chapter where Bond is in a Steakhouse in Washington DC ( a 3rd of the book takes place in DC, you should dig it), and he orders a specific table side made salad dressing, and after some research, it was Fledgling's favorite dressing. In the book they include the recipe as a footnote. 5 parts red wine vinegar 1 parts extra virgin olive oil cracked black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon of sugar 1 clove of garlic halved mix together and remove the garlic immediately dress the salad. I had one tonight and it was delicious!

canadianbeaver Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Hey Beav, Is that floating around somewhere on this site? Or was that a "Royal" "We" you were using? That would be Hubby Matthew and me. And find the album online.
cigcars Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 On the BBC channel tonight they're showing a two hour special about the 007 movies, and have A View To A Kill and Goldfinger coming on tonight also.
Ken Gargett Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 will try the salad! one regret, i saw amazon UK had the full set of 007 movies for about 20 quid. a chrissy special. i mucked about and by the time i went back, it had gone up about 6 times.

I went and saw the terrific James Bond exhibition at the Melbourne Museum over the weekend with my dear old mother. Designing 007 - 50 Years of Bond Style. http://designing007melbourne.com/Basically a full exhibition of costumes, gadgets, set designs, scene sketches and props from every Ian Fleming book and official film. Stunning display and just downright awesome. The DB5 greets you as you walk in. The exhibition is broken down into several key areas as you would expect and each is truly magnificent. I found the casino exhibition to be a clear winner. Costumes of each movie are displayed, villains, girls and even Le Chifre's asthma puffer! Also was given this book for Xmas from a previous UK exhibition. Wonderful for any Bond fan.
