Gorgeous pup, Lisa! It's fun watching them grow up. The puppy stage is always wicked cute, but they can be little terrors quite often. They're not quite as cute when they grow up (nothing's as cute

How to post a picture:

See the link on the bottom right of the text box, "more reply options"? Hit that and you will go to a box that allows you to attach files. Try to not make your file to big or it will be giant on the page. A small .jpg will do just fine.

"Choose file" from your computer. "Attach this file".

And that's it.

If you're using the mobile sight, go to the "full version," you can access at the bottom of the page. Once you do, you will see something like

Beautiful! Note time of my previous post... It was actually 4:30 am here. He had to go out to do his business and then was ready to play. I put him in his crate to bark it out but 20 minutes later I gave in. A few minutes later I put him back and he only barked for 5. But now I can't sleep. Thank you FOH.

Ok so here's the situation. About 10 months ago I moved from the city to our second place about 1.5 hours north of Toronto, in this one store town on the Beaver River. Brought my cigars and Scotch collections with me.

Two weeks ago, got Blue the puppy, but it was the Christmas holidays and Matthew was here the whole time. Last night he went home and as planned all along, Blue and I are now here on our own ...

Those are my dogs.

Toby on the left is 5 years old. Great dog. Tons of energy. Not a great hunter but he makes up for it by covering about 100 miles a day criscrossing fields and trees.

Bear on the right is 12 years old. Still hunts all day. Retrieves some of the worst cattails where most dogs refuse to go in.

I feed them Royal Canin Labrador 30. Their consumption to excretion ratio isn't bad at all. Good energy all the time. Very good shape overall. They get two cups in the morning and two in the evening, each.

Bear is 75lbs (used to be 85 but as he got older I cut him down to help on his hips. Never had a hip issue but he was so muscular I was concerned. Want him to live forever.)

Toby is 65lbs, lean and fast as heck.

Marker, that does not look like a 12 year old Lab. I don't know what you have in the water up there, but he looks 5. In my experience I have never seen a lab without gray around the face and head after 6-7. He must be in truly great shape. Congrats on two very handsome dogs!

You are always welcome to come up, Joe. We had a foot of snow in the last 24 hours and these are the best skiing conditions in years!

Jamie those labs are fabulous. Blue eats the same food, puppy grade. One cup, 3x a day. He inhales it.

Lisa, Then with good exercise I believe your dog will turn out great. Had Eukanuba for a while when I first got Bear and it was ok but Royal Canin is so much better.

My dogs do get some table food but I run it out of them. It is a treat for working hard or knowing that they will soon be worked hard.

The adult version of the food is a bigger nugget and they do have to chew it some. Well sometimes they chew it. Most times they don't. At least they think about chewing it...

Thanks Nick.

A plumber just came in for a bit to fix the drain under our sink.

All day long the pup was so good, playing outside, inside, had a couple if naps, you get the idea.

The guy comes in, empties the cupboard and takes his shoes off and BAM!!! Blue goes apeshit. Jumping, trying to eat everything, the garbage, bags, tools, shoes, barking, jumping you name it. I cannot get him to leave the guy alone.

Stan (the plumber) tells me, "you know, you are going to have to get that dog under control, Lisa".

OMG. He has been under control. Just not when a stranger comes in and empties out a treasure chest?
