Rye Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 uuuummmmm, what's with the Drew Estate photo John???? LOL... I laughed when I saw that this morning. You know John HAD to sneak one in there somewhere!
Puros Y Vino Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 I laughed when I saw that this morning. You know John HAD to sneak one in there somewhere! John! Actually, it's not so much about DE. There's a very mottled date code stamped on there I believe. We were at the La Corona factory. At the end of our tour our guide offered to stamp the inside of our hats, clothing or cigar caddies with the latest box code. LEM NOV 13 I believe.

Too cool! Did he light an FFP at the dinner? I'm still kicking myself for not making it there, but I look forward to hearing the stories!
maverickdrinker Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 All I can say is that John will need to have his wardrobe pre approved before joining us in Havana next year......LOL

The air in Havana is bad enough. No need to light up NC's.

oliverdst Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Great, great pictures. I guess at this moment we can have a whole floor in Hotel Nacional next november Guys, what about the Encuentro itself??
in0gravity Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Here is my recap in photos. Part 1 of 2. Great Pictures. What are the boxes on the last picture? It is hard to read. Does is say 10 Salomones? Which brand? And that Ramon Allones Imperiales humidor looks great. thanks Lars
in0gravity Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 They are Partagas Salomones boxes. Thanks, they do look different from the boxes they normally come in. Are these special boxes for the festival?
finecigar Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Wow amazing photos.. Especially that humidor shop... craftsmanship looks breathtaking. Can't wait for my trip to Cuba some day
ebhead Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Here are a few photos...will most likely spread them over a a few postings due to file size: Here's Tom waiting at the airport. And boy did we have to wait...7 hour delay to get on the plane (a comedy of errors due to mechanical issues on the plane and a customer that decided to leave the flight just after boarding was completed)... Well, finally in Havana. Checked in to the Nacional at 4:30 in the morning. We decided to stay up instead of getting some much needed sleep...and as a result we caught a part of the Marathon being run that day: What do you do when you have time to kill in Cuba? You go to the Partagas factory, of course: ...Part 2 to follow....
ebhead Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 ...Part 2... Here are a few shots over the week that we were in Havana: John: Edward: Robaina Farm: ...Part 3 to follow...
ebhead Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 ...Part 3... Hector Luis' farm: ...Part 4 to follow...
