poorman Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Just smoked my first Edmundo, it's from May 12. It was a complete wind tunnel. If there were a few holes in it I could have played it like a flute. Curious if this is typical of this stick. If so they have moved to the top of the golf course rotation. Thanks
CaptainQuintero Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've not had good experiences with it, suffers from typical monte cq issues, the petit seem more consistently well made from my experience
mk05 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've always enjoyed Edmundos from '08 and '09. Haven't bought recent production...can't believe all would be that bad when everything else has been so wonderful.
srsMichael Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Only edmundos Ive smoked have been from 2005. All very good, no issues with any of them. Inconsistencies seem to sum up Montecristo as a marca. When they're on they are amazing but there is no in between. The bad ones are baaaaaaaaad!
polarbear Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Got a box from early 2012. No dramas with the 8 or so I've had
Wil Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 It was a complete wind tunnel. If there were a few holes in it I could have played it like a flute. This has been my exact experience with Edmundos. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Phillys Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 2012 box of Edmundos and Petit Edmundos, 2 or 3 sticks out of 25 where wind tunnels in both boxes, the rest where just perfect. How is the rest of the box?
poorman Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 How is the rest of the box? That was my first one. Will try another tomorrow.
nonameno Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hi Poorman, I have a box from SEP 11, and I have only had wonderful experiences with this box so far. Thank you, Curtiss
CigarmanTim Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hi Poorman, I have a box from SEP 11, and I have only had wonderful experiences with this box so far. Thank you, Curtiss Ditto that. Not Sept but was 2011 and I am almost done with the box. Beautiful
canadianbeaver Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Unfortunate. They are among Matthew's favorite. Maybe we just got lucky with the box we had.
Orion21 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I would always recommend trying more than one stick from a box of cigars before judging the whole lot. . .
Ptowncigar Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have 08 tubos, construction has been fine, maybe a little to easy of a draw. But flavor wise, they've been good.
Lotusguy Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Had very good luck with Edmundos from 2008, 2009, and 2010. I haven't smoked all of mine from those years yet so I didn't see the need to buy newer ones so far.
stargazer14 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have an early 2012 box and it is also very loose. Maybe not 'tunnel', but a bit too loose for my liking.
jazzbass Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 A few years back I was lucky enough to meet someone online selling Edmundos from 2006 at a great price. These have been some of the best Cuban cigars I've ever smoked, perfect construction and a real rollercoaster of ever evolving flavors. I can't imagine how many rollers produce these great cigars but I'm sure that from time to time a few are constructed with less than perfect characteristics. Its the chance we take when we buy hand made products, I am often disappointed with Cuban cigar products but will continue buying and smoking them until they are no longer available.
