bamadoc77 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I like to gamble on sports, not the consistency of cigars.... so i stay away from Montecristo in general. ha ha
Lotusguy Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 You also don't like M520! Oh, I'd like it plenty if it was $8/stick
Bcrowell Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 I like to gamble on sports, not the consistency of cigars.... so i stay away from Montecristo in general. ha ha You should stick to NC's. they are all mediocre. Personally I'll gamble now and then.
bamadoc77 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Just saying they are not high on my list to buy, I have plenty of M2s, just saying they are a gamble.
BonVivant Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Montecristo Especial from El Laguito are excellent
bamadoc77 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Montecristo Especial from El Laguito are excellent Hello Friend, Leo. I'm gonna say LGC Gloriosos (cuba regional jar)
BonVivant Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Hello Friend, Leo. I'm gonna say LGC Gloriosos (cuba regional jar) Totally agreed, Stewart, but this thread is about Montecristo No.2 - we already hijacked it...LOL Hello!!! Back to the topic: Montecristo No. 2 box recommendations
Bcrowell Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Just saying they are not high on my list to buy, I have plenty of M2s, just saying they are a gamble. I have none until next week. I have smoked 2. One of them was the best thing I have ever tasted. I want that moment again. It was 6 years old and it was a gift from an unknown box. Like a figment of my imagination.
Bcrowell Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 I picked up a box in Cuba with the following box code: USE FEB 2012 Every stick I have smoked from that box has been bang on. I chose this box code. I believe it worked out to be a winner. They smell like cocoa and have a light sheen. In my best Rob impression, "Do I have to think about it? Yes. Then they are HQ!" Thanks for the suggestions. http://beamr.com/iWHBVS

perfectform Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Is it just me or do others prefer light colored Monte 2 wrappers?
Colt45 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Is it just me or do others prefer light colored Monte 2 wrappers? You are not alone - given a choice, I'll take colorado to colorado claro, smooth and silky, every time - for pretty much any cigar. The pictures look...... luscious!
Reevzy Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I just picked up a box of 10 ALT SEP 12. One I had last night didn't blow me away, I don't think they'll see the light of day for a while yet
sengjc Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 2010 and 2011 were good years in my opinion.
Bcrowell Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Is it just me or do others prefer light colored Monte 2 wrappers? Are you trying to rain in my parade? They smell good and look great to me. I have only had a couple and they were both very light in shade. I hope that these are as good as they smell. Ill smoke one in a month and post here.
mk05 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 haha, just smoke the cigars. in 5 yrs you can't even tell the difference
perfectform Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Huh? Rain on your parade? I think you took my post the wrong way. That's a great looking box you have there. Are you trying to rain in my parade? They smell good and look great to me. I have only had a couple and they were both very light in shade. I hope that these are as good as they smell.
