stunod Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 If you have $375 in your wallet , that needs to be spent, is it the Behike 54 or the Cohiba 1966.
jayceskinner Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I have tried all of the BHK line and they are great but I would buy the 1966's over the BHK any day.
Zigatoh Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Snap, though *****int are out of stock, everywhere else I see has them way above that price!
Drguano Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 If I might wander a little bit from the topic, would anyone have an opinion on how the Piramide Extras compare to the BHK and the 1966?
sactochris Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 One of these days I'm going to break down and spend the hundred or so odd dollars and try the 66, BHK 52, and the Piramide Extra.
LLC Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 1966 mainly because you'll be able to get Behikes later, 1966 are getting tough to find.
BMWFan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Note even a race for me 1966 all day over BHK. I have yet to have a really good BHK. I have a box of 54s and 56s. While I can kind of taste potential, the 66s are smoking really good now and getting better every time I try one. The piramides are also smokinng great right now.
CanuckSARTech Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 1966 mainly because you'll be able to get Behikes later, 1966 are getting tough to find. Agreed. '66's, then Piramides Extras, then BHK 54's.
stogiecidal Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 1966 mainly because you'll be able to get Behikes later, 1966 are getting tough to find. +1 this. Love both but as a buy now I'd go with the 1966's.
CaptainQuintero Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Was utterly let down by the 1966's. Try before you buy
cigcars Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 1966 mainly because you'll be able to get Behikes later, 1966 are getting tough to find. + 2 What he said
Deemancpa Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 + 2 What he said +3 - how can you guys smoke 66 with the ammonia emanating from each puff...way too young
Pilgrims Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 had one 1966 and one BHK52 and have to say for smoking now I would go BHK, to lay down for 3yrs+ I would say 1966
maverickdrinker Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 1966 as they are getting tough to find BHK 54; my favorite of the line Piramides Extras: would rather buy Siglo VIs
cigcars Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 +3 - how can you guys smoke 66 with the ammonia emanating from each puff...way too young *The one I'd obtained - from the Czar - was smooth, delicious and just fine! No ammonia smell for me!
Diamondog Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 If I might wander a little bit from the topic, would anyone have an opinion on how the Piramide Extras compare to the BHK and the 1966? CPE not even in same stratosphere at the moment, need some serious down time. CPE will be very good in a few years i believe. As for the original question tough one, both stellar smokes, i will say ive smoked a few boxes of each and the BHK has delivered more awe moments. That should be prefaced with for the most part theyve been 2010s.
dangolf18 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I've only had the original release of the BHKs in early '10. They blow the '66 out of water. So much more refined. Don't get me wrong. The '66 are still fantastic cigars. They are easily 94 point cigars, but the original BHK are 98+ (prefer the 54). Sadly, the early '10 production is long gone. I've been scared off by reports of '11 production that I haven't bothered picking up a box.
Drguano Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Thanks. I have a box of 1966s stashed, some 2010 BHK 52s and am awaiting a box of PEs to put away as well. My favorite BHK has been the 54.

I had an '11 BHK 52 on Christmas and it was stunning but i have had other 11's not so....now i need to smoke one...
Lotusguy Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Pfft - buy a 50 cab of RASS and be a happy camper. I am done spending $30+ a stick for something from current production when I can have the best aged sticks for <$20/ea. If it HAS to be a high-end Cohiba, BHK54 for me. Was underwhelmed by the 1966. I am turning into an old man, I think - next thing I'll tell the kids to get off my lawn
jazzbass Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 If it HAS to be a high-end Cohiba, BHK54 for me. Lotusguy said it !!!!!! I LOVED the 54 ( and the 52 as well ) I simply felt that the 1966 was still young but really DID see the potential for aging.
stargazer14 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I think I'd go with 75ea. Boli PC's myself. I have not had the '66, and the BHK (I had one) was very good, but I just couldnt see putting out that kinda cigar money for 10 sticks when I could have have sooo much more smoking time with almost (and sometimes more) the same pleasure. But, that's not what this thread is about so pretend I didnt say anything. : )
mbrody Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Think they are all a crapshoot. You need a good run. The 1966 I have tried did not floor me; I have had great 52's, good 54's and one stellar CPE and one good CPE. I liked the 52 and the CPE most. CPE portrayed the "cohiba classic" lineage well from my tasting. it did not remind me of the linea 1492.
