Frofro Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Greetings All I recently purchased a box of Partagas 898 in Gibraltar. There is a stamp of some kind on the outer cardboard packaging, but it is too faint for me to decipher, and I couldn’t be certain as to what it meant if I could see it properly. I've attached an image of the stamp and I was wondering if anyone would be good enough to decipher it for me? From what I have been able to gather from the excellent www.cubancigarwebsite.com, the box/packaging sports the 1994-2004 box seal and the 1962-1999 warranty seal, which perhaps narrows things down a little. Any advice would be most welcome, thanks a lot.

jazzbass Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Wow thats a tough one.... I dragged the pic onto my desktop, loaded it into ical and then tried to manipulate by darkening, and increasing the contrast.. Not a lot of luck.... I think the comments above mine are probably close.

Frofro Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 Well, many thanks for the wiser heads and better eyes...it would seem that I've picked up some '99 898s. That's not bad - I accidentally picked up some '99 Bolivar Coronas earlier this year as well, although the box code was a damn sight easier to read!
El Presidente Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Looks like the tiles I pick up when I play scrabble
