Would anybody recommend any of the Bolivar tubos? (i.e. No.1, No.2, No.3)

Not based on my box of '05 No. 1's. I find them pretty bland, especially for a Boli.

I got some 3's back in feb when I was there with my girlfriend, my GF ended up smoking them all she just loved em. she is a cigarette smoker but likes to go the cigar route also. I emember her telling me it was very nice and it was but was quite punchy(pepper).

hope it helps

The number 3s are lip smackers! Real full bodied little cigars with plenty of thick creamy smoke. Leather and spice through and through.

Thanks for suggestions. My source currently has all three in stock with these box codes.

Bolivar Tubos No.3 TEB SEP07

Bolivar Tubos No.2 TEB SEP07

Bolivar Tubos No.1 OSU SEP01

I might just go with the No.1 because after all, they have 11 years of age on them. If not, will go with the No.3.

I had a couple of 10+ years old Boli 1 tubos in Spain and they were way over the hill in terms of flavor - not sure if it was due to storage or not. I'd go with a #3 (never had a #2, though).

I have a box of '01 No. 2 that I smoke sparingly. A flavour I remember I'd describe as hot fresh bread. Good draw on them all so far. I smoked in Spain in July with a friend from Madrid who has been smoking cigars for at least 40 years. He was very impressed.

I love them.

I've always enjoyed Bolivar tubos.

I remember reading somewhere that these were made lesser quality tobacco than the regular Bolivar line.I don't know if thats true, but I've tried a few of all of them and I can tell you that the #2 is clearly inferior to the PC.Never been forunate enough to try a Corona to compare to the #1.The best of the tubos IMO is the #3.
