CanuckSARTech Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I came across a listing on eBay with a classic leather smokers' couch: http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item4cf91d59a9 Now, while that style of leather couch is not my thing at all, I do definitely love the appeal of sitting in a nice smoking chair made out of leather, and enjoying my Habanos. So, I get the furniture appeal. Also, a while back now, Emil / "TropicalDoc" shared some pictures with us of his truly awesome and jaw-dropping walk-in humidor slash smoking room. Some guys have awesome set-ups, other guys use ice fishing sheds. To-mato, tom-ato. To each their own - it's all in how we each enjoy the hobby (read - "all in how our spouses let us consume our cigars", lol). But this all got me to thinking.... Everyone, no matter their current set-up, still has that envisioned dream smoking room that we'd each love to set up. Be it at home, at work, in a group/club setting, you name it. And with a smoking room comes accoutrements and accessories. So....what would you most like to see in your dream smoking room? Furniture, accessories, artwork, wet bar, styling...you name it. Pictures too, please.
Marker Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Cribbage board and table. A lean back chair but not a recliner. I don't want to fall asleep. I want to smoke a cigar. TV with some football (not soccer). Shelf full of books. Internet so I can play FoH poker and get bad beats all day.
Puros Y Vino Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 High ceilings. Rabbit air purifiers hidden between artwork. A walk-in humidor with LED lighting. A recessed humidor wouldn't be bad either. Speakers built into the wall, A few leather chairs around a decent sized coffee table. Pedestal ashtrays alongside the chairs. An espresso machine and bar. (modest sized). The Montreal LCDH smoking area pretty much is the ideal space for me. Maybe not as large, but it's a great room.
Pilgrims Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 TV with the racing (horses) channels and a fresh copy of the racing post, a eurocave of my fav wines, internet and comfortable seats...masses more but that's start
DrunkenMonkey Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Shlomo's place looks like the best to me.
CaptainQuintero Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Crikey look at the pucker on that! Nice catch! Did you stuff it on the wall or eat it or even go the green way and set it back to be caught again? This is the best I've managed while trout fishing: Just an inside smoking room would be nice, nothing fancy!
Marker Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 CQ, I could probably make a smelly fish joke, but that would be highly inappropriate.... Never knew you as the PC type...
nikesupremedunk Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Honestly, Anything with a roof, walls, and a place to sit would be more than enough for me. Hate having to smoke outdoors since I don't have a place to smoke indoors.
mk05 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 atados, cabinettas, varaderos, ambassadrice, moutons, 3000s, and clemenceaus.
braveheart655 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I'd like to combine Shlomo and brazoseagle's suggestions
Justmi Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Why are there stools for the billiards table? Do you sit and play?
Jnaube Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Everything else is just furniture. Indeed! pfouahahah!
dangolf18 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 My ideal smoker's lounge would be a small square room with a rather high ceiling, lined with 17th-19th century books. A nice antique desk and comfy leather chair. Would have a nice stock of vintage scotch and cognac. Walls would have some Da Vinci sketches . That's ideal, but I'd obviously have to be loaded. But ideally a comfortable leather couch and a couple nice leather chairs, 60" flat screen, books on cigars, dart board, and a pool table.
PigFish Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I am very comfortable in a workshop setting. I would therefore rather have a Bridgeport vertical mill over that of: the bimbo, the billiards, the bar, or the big screen! You can throw a lit cigar at your metal lathe and it just laughs at you! Try that with the bimbo or the big screen! Cheers! -the Pig
mazolaman Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Crikey look at the pucker on that! Nice catch! This is the best I've managed while trout fishing: Just an inside smoking room would be nice, nothing fancy! She's a honey....and she's giving me the eye! Look at her, with her lips slightly parted, all coquettish like, she knows how to work it.... After 41/2 months in a camper van with my wife the answere is.... No women, a comfy chair, and an acoustic guitar.
Mr.T Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 fun thread! I'd go for a pool table and some foosball, bar, big screen tv with blue ray, comfy leather chairs, mini library, surround sound music system and some cigar antique pieces. I'd throw up some photos of some of my favorite destinations around the world, music idols and cigar notorities. Yeah.....
al321 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I've had this dream for quite a while... I'm into woodworking, so I would love to have a nice sized shop where I could neatly place and use all the tools I've accumulated over the years. Above the shop would be the men's lounge, of course completely hand built by yours truly. Solid wood paneling, hand made furniture, including multiple cabinet humidors...one just isn't enough. A nice bar, multiple TVs and soft brown leather for Sunday afternoons. I could go on and on. Hell, I might even bookmark this thread so I can post a pic one day!
CanuckSARTech Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Some good thoughts here. Now.... Am I the only one? I'd love to have a hot-tub in my dream cigar lounge. I like what Frank said above, but I just love me the experience of sitting out in a hottub, year-round, having some rum and cokes, and enjoying a cigar. It's something I frequently do over at my neighbour's place (I gotta buy me a hot-tub soon!). But, I envision something like the LCDH Montreal lounge mixed with the Park Hyatt Toronto's Stillwater Spa. Elements of those two combined would be awesome for me!
