dangolf18 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 How come there hasn't been an Australia regional edicion? Are there no LCDHs in Australia and thus they can't be ordered?
Ophidion Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I believe it's because it's part of the Asia Pacifc market.
Rushman Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I believe it's because it's part of the Asia Pacifc market. True --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631684,-87.070643
Trevor2118 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I believe it's because it's part of the Asia Pacifc market. This listing shows the countries in the Asia Pacific region. HQ is The Pacific Cigar Co. of Hong Kong. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/lists/05-distributors.htm#Pacific_Cigar
westg Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Melbourne has a LCDH. Not sure about Sydney. Australia falls under the Asia Pacific region for regionals FOH have sold Asia Pacific regionals check out the *****AS live from the humidor they had earlier on in the week something there from memory . Or contact FOH see what they have.
chr0nic Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Melbourne has a LCDH. Not sure about Sydney. I don't think Sydney has one- I've never heard of\seen it. What's the LCDH in Melbourne like?
westg Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I don't think Sydney has one- I've never heard of\seen it. What's the LCDH in Melbourne like? Good mate..comprehensive stock, like most LCDH a little pricey though.
Guest rob Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I don't think Sydney has one- I've never heard of\seen it. What's the LCDH in Melbourne like? The shop in Martin Place - Though not specifically titled LCDH... It is essentially one, run by Pacific Cigar Co.
rfenst Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Australia is getting its own RE. It is just going to have invisible bands and boxes...
CaptainQuintero Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Probably down to market size, if the Australian market grew more it would probably get one. With the new legislation coming in I can't see it happening now. In fact we may see regionals be scaled down and combined if similar legislation comes in or sales drop. EG Spain and Italy combine into an Iberian band etc
westg Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Australia is getting its own RE. It is just going to have invisible bands and boxes... Ha classic
westg Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The shop in Martin Place - Though not specifically titled LCDH... It is essentially one, run by Pacific Cigar Co. Really thought it was LCDH ?
chr0nic Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Good mate..comprehensive stock, like most LCDH a little pricey though. I'll have to check it out, cheers mate The shop in Martin Place - Though not specifically titled LCDH... It is essentially one, run by Pacific Cigar Co. Ah, didn't know it was ran by PCC... been to Bogarts in Martin Place before. Nice guy, but to echo westg- very pricey. Very VERY. I'd only go there if I went out, forgot a CC and really really wanted one. But it's good to have that kind of selection I suppose regardless of price.
Fuzz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I thought the PCC owned store in Sydney was in the Westing Hotel?
MIKA27 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Good mate..comprehensive stock, like most LCDH a little pricey though. It's a pretty nice yet small store however Sattish has great quantity of stock available however yes, it is quite pricey.
Smacky Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Correct - the one in The Westin is called Havana Express and is owned by PCC. Bogarts is separate. The LCDH in Melbourne is located in the Grand Hyatt. Nice big walk-in Humidor and well worth a visit. A lot more stock than havana Express. The guys that run both (Justin in Sydney and I think Satish in Melbourne) are both very friendly guys.
chr0nic Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Correct - the one in The Westin is called Havana Express and is owned by PCC. Bogarts is separate. Thanks for the clarification mate How dowa Havana Express compare with Bogarts (in case I'm ever in need of an emergency stick)... I mean I'm assuming city prices are city prices, but how do the two stack up in your opinion?
Fuzz Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 It's been years since I've been to the Westin, but I would go there before going to Bogart's.
Ryan Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Regionals are produced on request of the distributer for the distributer area, not necessarily a specific country. PCC covers a lot of territory. So Pacific regionals, not Australian regionals. Italy has Diadema as distributer so Italian regionals. Spain has Altadis so Spanish regionals. There are distributers who have regionals made for specific countries like the RA Macedonian for Greece and Cypus. Phoenicia covers many more countries than those two. H**ters and F***k** covers UK, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Gibraltar but do you think they'll produce an Irish regional? They will like ****. Plan B.
CaptainQuintero Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 lol Andy you might not be getting a Christmas card from the Freemans this year!
ned Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 the havana express in the westin isnt huge but has a good selection, justin is a top notch guy. that is the only place i will buy cigars in sydney. and yes it is run by pcc so no worries about fakes. if they dont have it usually they can get it for you.
asmith Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 There has always been talk of an Australian regional, but every time Rob or Ken stare down the camera during a review and say "Shame Habanos, Shame" the prospect of an Aussie regional goes out the door.
