Rough estimate would be a little over 2,000 cigars. Mostly CCs, but I still do buy certain NCs. I definitely buy much more than I smoke (not by choice), so it builds, but slowly as I've been smoking regularly for about 4 years now. Truly though...how can you ever have enough?

I probably have about 200 or so, 99% NC at this point but I am working on changing the numbers a little.

My humidors are looking pathetic right now. I only have one CC, a few decent NCs, and about 20 sticks that I am getting ready to throw in the garbage because they are rubbish. I just ordered 10 Cohiba Maduro 5s and a box of the LE Hoyo Piramides, I'm also splitting a box of Bolivar Petite Coronas with a friend that should be arriving soon. I couldn't be more excited, this is going to be the most CCs I've ever had at one time. In anticipation, I am picking up a Daniel Marshall Cocobolo Rosewood 100ct humidor for $120 :D :D

I have a few...

I have no strategy. I used to buy what I could afford when I had the desire. Since most of the cigars I like are no longer made, I make due with what I have hoarded over the years.

I have no limits. I smoke what I want when I want. The biggest hindrance is knowing that I will never be able to replace my stock. Secondarily I gift less do to that fact. While some of my favorites are still made, I no longer have the zeal for the hunt like I used to have. Most of the newer cigars are either larger than I have a taste for, or are EL's and other unproven over priced items. Everything else in the catalogue I have smoked. There are no new doors to open. The EL hunt is futile and disappointing, not to mention expensive. New 50+ ring cigars are light in weight, easy drawing and typically insipid. If I am going to smoke cigars that taste like they came out of a tobacco 'blender' I might as well just buy the cheapest ones that I can buy!

When I get back to buying cigars it will be only to continue to stockpile 42 ring and under cigars. I will probably simply buy multiple boxes of the few that I now favor.

This is probably a stupid question but what does EL mean? I'm new to cigars so please forgive my ignorance.

EL = Edicion Limitada or Limited Edition.

Cigars that are released a few times a year by Habanos SA from Cuba for more money than "standard" production cigars.

Similar programme is ER = Edicion Regional or Regional Edition.

Cigars that are released for a particular country or regional area by Habanos SA also at higher prices.

EL stands for Edicion Limitada, or the 'allegedly' limited production, annual special release Habanos products. The acronym for these products is EL, or in my book... crap!

No dumb questions mate. This is what the forum is for. Cheers. -Piggy

I wanted to take a moment and salute those just starting. Way to go! We all started somewhere. We all started with 1 cigar!

I have about 200. In honesty at the rate that I smoke it would take a few years to work through but I constantly look to add since I've only been into cigars for about 4 years. I would really like to smoke more but I can't seem to find the time currently.

Alittle over 6,000. So 275-300 ish boxes. A mix of both Cuban and non Cuban

^that it?

I think I'd be happy (sure I say that now) when my 55 ct cabinet is full but at present it still has plenty of room. Not really into collecting and hoarding every cigar from every line just ones that I enjoy smoking.

Yep :daydream: i have a severe problem. I bet some day all of my family and relatives will be planning an intervention! I actually liked it better when I had a smaller amount because now I can't find certain cigars. I have somewhat of an inventory but it's a bit difficult with thousands...

Wow..am amazed at some of these collections.. and a tad bit green with envy lol.. that said I have @ 300 but most are NC since I just became enlightened. My CC stock stands at a modest 2 boxes but will be greatly expanded as opportunity and money meet :)

After a 7k divorce lawyer bill this month, 7k less than there could have been.....OUCH

Add a zero on the end for mine ! However I still have over 2k sticks including OLH. All from the Czar. No NC's. my lawyer probably buys a lot more cigars than I do these days !

I'm at about 125 CC and 375 NC.

My plan is to burn through just about all my NC stock while my CC stock ages nicely. I'll keep my purchases mainly to CC except for the NC I really enjoy the most and eventually have a conveyor belt of aged CC ready to smoke on top of a sea of ones aging.

I have 47 boxes of varied regular production, EL and I stocked up on RACF 6 months ago.

Over the next year I will be stocking up on lonsdales (898, Monte 1, Sig IV etc.) and Robustos (BRC and RyJ SC). I buy what I want and the goal is to have enough boxes to last me for a very long time in the event tobacco laws become even more insane over the coming years.
