Ralph78 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I just got a new humidor 300 count and am fairly new to cigars and was wondering what every good humidor should have ? Currently I have a few of the following Cohiba 1966 EL 2011 Diplomaticos Diplomaticos No. 1 Hoyo de Monterrey Short Piramide EL 2011 Partagas 8-9-8 Barinzados Quintero y Hno. Nacionales Vegas Robaina Famosos Cohiba Siglo II Partagas Serie D No. 4 H. Upmann Robustos EL 2012 To date I have prefered Robusto or Dalia style sticks. Suggestions Please
Justmi Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I went with samplers, smoking a large variety with friends and narrowed what I liked, disliked, what sizes I prefer for summer outside, winter inside, smokes that go after a great meal and smokes that I enjoy on a lazy Sunday with a coffee. My humi is no show piece, just a tidy assortment of smokes I enjoy. Soz, I did not answer your question.
demiurgic Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Wish I knew more about Habanos. Now, NC's, that's another story

Pilgrims Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 having the size to have a decent collection I recon the great thing is to have a full spectrum of sizes as well as brands, something for every occasion and I'd certainly include Partagas Shorts, Trinidad Reyes and Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas in addition to the above, over looking the good smaller smokes is a mistake worth avoiding IMHO
SuprHasan Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 What NC's would you suggest Arturo Fuente Hemmingway Work of Art Maduro Tatuaje Black Label Petite Lancero Tatuaje El Triunfador Original Blend Tatuaje Petite Cazadores Reserva Illusione 88 Illusione 4/2 Slam Anyting from Drew Estate Unicos series That'll be a good start.
hdryder Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 RASS and as Shlomo suggested some samplers. If you email Rob and let him know which cigars you enjoy he would be happy to hook you up with a nice sampler the experiment with.
demiurgic Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 SuprHasan knows what's up! I'd deffo try the Illusione Epernay. Looking some something special? Highly rated? Try the NHC Seleccion Limitada by Tatuaje Capa Especial 2012 (could you have added more words to the name there Pete J?) Want something that packs a punch? Perhaps the Flor Dominicana in the Oscuro might work. Agree with Shlomo +Justmi Samplers! is what I get of anything I am unsure about.
PigFish Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Any coronas, petit corons, and lonsdales you can get your hands on! Cheers. -the Pig
nikesupremedunk Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Seems like you wasted no time and bought a lot of goodies. If you are starting out, your palate will change and I agree with others, try to sample them first. I also agree its nice to have a wide variety of vitolas and marcas.
mbrody Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Every good humidor should have another humidor to keep him company Jaws, chief Brody: we're going to need a bigger boat!
rcarlson Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 What NC's would you suggest Gotta have some Dre Estate Liga Pravada No. 9s.

winelover Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Reinforcement and a lock - speaking from experience. Cigars wise - the OP has already started off well, but no bolivar so get some!
TexAg Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Reinforcement and a lock - speaking from experience. Cigars wise - the OP has already started off well, but no bolivar so get some! YES!!! Be sure to have a way to keep others from mooching off of your precious cigars. I experienced this over the summer. Also, it prevents people from pestering you about wanting some cigars. Also, I would say a humidity source....
dB69 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 A sampler including three of each of the following. Partagas Shorts Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas Por Larranaga Petit Coronas Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas Bolivar Petit Coronas Quai d'Orsay Coronas Claro Ramon Allones Specially Selected Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 Bolivar Belicosos Finos Partagas Presidentes Hoyo de Monterrey Hoyo des Dieux
Ralph78 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Many thanks everyone. You have given me some great ideas and inspiration with what my humi will eventually hold. And yes I feel a second humi will be necessary sometime early next year.
SuprHasan Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 A good humidor always needs more space!
