It's a long season Ken!

Posted

They will MOST LIKELY go to Seattle next week as a favorite and lose the game. FWIW, Road Dogs who win outright, that play away the following week and are now favorites, lose outright at an incredible percentage.

Yes RG3 looked very good in his first NFL game, but remember he is a Rookie.

no doubt a long season but you'd rather him start like that than a heap of picks and fumbles.

and i'm thinking it is highly unlikely seattle will beat them next week. they are playing the rams. but i know what you mean.

Nah Ken, you’re topic header should have read “I couldn’t wait to say it.” :rotfl:

Impressive numbers with NO’s middle of the pack defense further weakened by their sanctions and an interim coach. The foreskins don’t hit any real defense until after their bye week. With plenty of tape by then RG3PO will need his big boy pads against the Cowboys, Iggles, Ravens and Steelers. Many believe bounties still exist in the NFL; someone will look to make a name for himself by taking the kid down, hard.

In a somewhat related matter: Classic foreskin fan… can anyone tell me what position #8(as seen in the video) plays?

I just can't help to think if he decides to run a lot like Vick, defensive guys are going to make a point to hit him hard and in Five years from now it's gonna take its toll on him. think he will be plagued by injuries.

number 8? kicker? no idea.

saints only missing one defender from the bounties and that was because he was ionjured - or do i have that wrong?

understand long season and all but i still think a great start. that is not an easy place to play and for a bloke in his first game, great stuff. saints have not been beaten there for a long time.

no doubt every defender in the comp would love to nail him and someone will. hopefully nothing too serious.

as for vick, i understand the similarities with the running but what impressed me was the passing (and those fakes). and seriously, multiply vick's iq by whatever number you can think of and you are still short of this kid.

as for character...

but he could go down next week and never get back. enjoy it while we can.

My bad Ken... I was thinking about the Cowboys who play at Seattle.

You are correct that RG3 started the right way. Truly a gifted athlete whose future looks extremely bright.

how good was rg3!

to whoop the saints in the dome first up, special.

one suspects that there is more to come. bring on those cowgirls!

looked great Ken, best possible scenario.. lets see what he does vs Dallas and NYG....

"somebody had to say it"? Ken, everyone knew who was going to say it. That said, congratulations. Small sample size, but it looks like the Redskins have found themselves a real QB. And he's going to be fun to watch.

rob, i can see some very loing discussions in costa and cuba. by that stage, we should have whipped the cowgirls and rg3 will have been annoited as the next big thing! he is going to make romo look like...., well, romo.

One game does not a QB make. NO's defense? I guess they're an NFL defense? Except for M J, who is an all out stud, they're horrible. 24th total defense last year, 30th passing defense.

Can we just wait and see once intra-division games crank up please?

He played really well, and I like the kid but I just want to see a better test to really see what he has.

I'm not a Dallas fan, but the Cowboys Defense if going to eat the Redskins for dinner. He's going to be running for his life next week. My concern for him is that he's not as big as Cam Newton and will not absorb the hits well. Remember, he has a injury history from college. However, I REALLY like the RG3 as a person and hope he succeeds, but the league is not kind to smaller QB's.

to all those non believers, i give you this article. written by someone who is supposedly an expert (someone called adam schein?). he wrote it shortly before the skins saints game. i assume he is currently fixing up his CV for whatever his next career might be.

(and yes, there will undoubtedly be some bumps along the way but as a long suffering skins fan, why not enjoy what you can, when you can).

The Saints will march all over RG3

I feel terrible for Robert Griffin III. He will never forget his NFL debut. The New Orleans Saints are going to crush Griffin and the Washington Redskins. This game was over months ago.

Don't misinterpret. I love RG3. I think he's going to have a great rookie season and become entrenched as a star in Washington, D.C., with his play, leadership and personality. He's just walking into a hornet's nest Sunday at the Superdome.

No team in the NFL needs the season to start as much as the Saints. They are hot. They are angry. Every single player, every single resident of the state believes they were wronged by Roger Goodell and the NFL with the "Bountygate" suspensions. Sean Payton won't coach a game this year and can't communicate with the team. Goodell successfully ended bounties forever in the NFL with the penalty. The Saints don't see it that way. Heck, there was a "Free Sean Payton" banner flying over MetLife Stadium for the NFL Kickoff game on Wednesday night.

Jon Vilma won't play a down on Sunday -- or, at this point, the rest of the season. General manager Mickey Loomis won't be found near the game, serving an eight-game suspension. Joe Vitt is the interim coach, but he's beginning a six-game suspension of his own. So, enter Aaron Kromer as the interim to the interim. The built-up anger will give this game a playoff feel. The Saints need to hit someone. RG could easily stand for Roger Goodell as the Saints see it.

By the way, New Orleans is good and vastly superior to the Redskins.

I don't want to pooh-pooh the importance of Payton, a great play caller who seemingly shares a brain and a feel for the game with Brees. Payton will be missed. But Brees is a star. He will be out to prove he can still dominate sans Payton.

Pete Carmichael Jr. will call the plays this year. You can bet he will do his best Payton impression and be super aggressive, throwing the ball over the middle to the unstoppable Jimmy Graham, down the field to Marques Colston and in the flat to jitterbug Darren Sproles. Washington's defense will have no response.

Lost in the Bountygate shuffle this offseason: The Saints' smart upgrade of Steve Spagnuolo at defensive coordinator. He's a masterful guru, a great designer of pressure. The reason Spags isn't the interim head coach is so he can solely focus on running New Orleans' defense. He will blitz RG3. He will confuse RG3. The Saints will pound RG3, legally, with no money exchanging hands, of course. Loomis made a savvy pickup by signing Curtis Lofton to fill Vilma's void at linebacker.

I think the 'Skins compete all year and win seven games. I think Griffin III competes for Offensive Rookie of the Year, falling short to Andrew Luck. I think RG3 has no chance on Sunday. In fairness to him, most quarterbacks -- most teams -- couldn't beat the talented and angry Saints in Week 1 after this offseason.

Good luck in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams, Robert. You're already 0-1.

Ken-

Some here think RG3PO the second coming of Joe Theisman; they’d best be careful with that prognostication.

I like the kid; off the field, naturally. You may be interested to know one of the three letters likened him to Tebow. Google that one for why. :ok:

Chris Collinsworth said the Cowboys win over the Giants may have been Romo’s best game to date. The first smackdown between the ‘boys and ‘skins isn’t until 25 NOV, perfect timing. What say you to the loser buying two mojitos at EL Floridita? I’ll drink mine as I watch you wallow in paleskin misery.:ok:

whether you love or hate the cowgirls, is this supposedly great franchise the sort of team where some commentator is able to be making a statement like that about your 1/4back after about five years? seriously? of course, ditto re the crap we've had at the skins for years.

but quite seriously, when romo got the gig, would you have considered him a success if you had known that they'd be saying that about him years later? surely it should be something like 'romo had another great game last night'?

what is his pass mark this year? at what stage do they say enough? finals? division championship? superbowl? or more of the same for next year?

can't imagine that shrinking violet of an owner is happy. or going to get any happier when a rookie 1/4back starts whipping cowgirl butts and his alleged superstar 1/4back continues to bumble along.
