Rushman Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 It's an extra muggy day in PDC and I'm enjoying a coca cola light and a HdM Epi 2. As much as I like this cigar is how much I hate the band(s). riazp Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Yeah not a fan of the second band on the hoyo epi line. The hoyo band is not not that bad on its own. I enjoy the Diplo bands alot, as well as the LGC and Quai D'orsay bands

MrGlass Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I quite like the HDM band but I don't think there is a need for the second band on the Epicures. To me, a little bling on the band is nice. The Behike goes too far with this though. I must admit though that I bought an RA Extra just because the band was so awesome. That is the only time this has happened.

dvickery Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 my pet peeve is cigar bands...when a piece of the wrapper comes off with the band...much prefer bandless cigars...dont get me started on my thoughts about 2 or 3 bands. my personal favorite...bolivar...anyone that can use a picture of peewee herman on their bands and still sell cigars...they must be good smokes. derrek
cigcars Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 *Actually, I think the Hoyo series and H. Upmann bands are quite plain. I admire the Hoyo de Monterrey DC band. My own favorite bands are El Rey Del Mundo and Bolivar.

My least favorite bands would be Por Larranaga, San Cristobal de La Habana and what I call the "Brown Bands" consisting of: Jose L. Piedra, Rafael Gonzalez and Montecristo.

Also dislike the double banding of Upmann's and I preferred their old brown band that was very simple and like montecristo. In fact I used to appreciate that the Connie 1's and 46's came bandless.

My favorites are classic, original, and those that don't look like a tired template: Davidoff, the most classy band ever Old HU, no fuss and elegant Old HdM band Trevor is missing which is not cookie cut Old Monte band with the proper fleur de lis, variation with Edmundo Dante's Fonseca (and yes I just like fonseca!) BC it's different Old ERdM BC they look like pancakes a 3rd grader drew LGC BC it's beautiful PL only on the recent UK regionals
