El Presidente Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I have been a tad quiet for 3 months trying to dance around new proposed Australian Govt legislation. I have had an "effing" gut full. It will be no more. Changes will be made. I am not complaining ( I hate whingers with a passion) and I am happy to go to ******* jail (mods delete or edit....I don't ******* care). Seriously, I can only be who I am. If that means that I wear orange pastels behind bars then let it be (I am not good in brown ....or beige...washes me out). Too old, too tired, too excited, too pissed off, and I haven't even started in my life and I am not ******* quitting now for a pointy arsed poly or public servant who believes that a good glass of Chardonnay is the key to life. I will give you a hint. Laughter is. Sex is. Passion is. Compassion is. Friendship is. To the Aussie Govt. My name is Rob Ayala. My e-mail address is [email protected]. My mobile is 0412029744. Send your best or your ******* worst. I don't care. I want my day in court. I will defend myself .....let us go mano a mano and take me down you pieces of spineless mierda. I look forward to it. Let the cards fall as they may. I am happy to dance. I have lived more in the 47 years that I have stumbled on this planet than you would have lived in 10 lifetimes. Come take it from me. End of rant .
Tan1801 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Hear hear!!! I have nothing else of value to add to the original post.
Ken Gargett Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 seriously? the hours of careful scrutiny that all your moderators put in to your site and your smash every rule? oh the ignominy. more seriously, drown all politicians. i have said it plenty of times. if there is a single politician in this country or any other that is not in it, first and foremost because of a giant ego or self-interest, point him out. scum the lot. (other mods can leave that alone). now, while you are in this mood, can i start on guns and creationism? all pumped up for a fight. did my back yesterday and been in agony ever since. then at 6am, sound asleep, phone goes. mother. seems her security alarm went off. normally i'd be straight there and doing whatever. but why did it go off? low batteries. fair enough. but why the hell ring me about it? 'well, i thought you might be out on your walk so i'd ring and tell you'. having leapt out of bed and re-done the back, and not being best pleased about that, i was in no mood. if you thought i was out walking, why ring? not as tho i'd be able to answer the phone. then i got talked into a winemaker turning up at home. normally, i much prefer just working through the wines myself. this one turns up with, wait for it, no wine. seriously. and then sits and yacks for an hour and a half. about? don't ask me. i dropped a thousand hints and got nowhere. then this arvo, my exercise bike finally bites it. it has been a good and loyal servant but now dead. so there is another hit to the wallet. so please, guns and creationism? or just one?
Ken Gargett Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 ps - one final thing. the only thing about which i would disagree re rob's initial post is the 'acting for himself' bit. never wise. trust me, as a former lawyer, we were always against that - not because we missed out on fees because we made ten times the initial fee in trying to rectify the client's initial stuff up. rather, it almost certainly means heading down the toilet. do you reallyy think lawyers have made the system easy enough for laymen? where is the self-interest in that?
mbmacri Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Though not an Australian citizen, your comments / rant "struck a chord" with me. We are brought up to believe in and strive for independence, freedom of will / self determination, and acceptance of one's own responsibilities, only to have governments and the politicians that comprise them erode these very principals. My "hat's off" to you for expressing what most others only think. Note as to Ken's comments regarding lawyers; Just remember the age old joke, "Question: What do you call 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? Answer: A good start!!
markmurase Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Rob, I'm 100% with you. The nanny state mentality pisses me off. Cheers, Mark
bud65 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Could not agree more, I have had a gut full of politicians and would be dogooders telling me what they think is good for me, I am 47 years old for pity sake I think I can choose for myself by now you idiots !! If I want to drink Scotch and smoke Cigars I bloody well should be able to without anyone making it even harder for me to do so, leave us the hell alone.
Duxnutz Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I totally agree, it seems we (especially those of us in NSW) are headed on a one way train ride to nanny-State hell before we know it.... The only saving grace is the serve my mother gave to the council ranger giving a lady a ticket about her dog being off the leash in a park today that I got to witness. She darn near made the guy cry!
Montaigut Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 What if modern bureaucracy had been around in 1492?.... MEMO TO: HRH Queen Isabella FROM: Royal Advisory Bureau RE: Request for New World Discovery Expedition Support - Recommendations The Royal Advisors would like to express their unreserved support and admiration for the spirit of discovery, imagination and adventure embodied in the bold vision presented by Senor Christopher Columbus. At the same time the Royal Advisors can only acknowledge and decry the diminishing number of initiatives shown by Your Majesty’s subjects and express their fears for the resulting negative impact on the Kingdom’s fortunes. The plan presented by Senor Columbus, if successful, will propel the Kingdom at the forefront of nations. This is the bold spirit our Kingdom needs to rekindle. Consequently it is our recommendation that Senor Columbus be given enthusiastic Royal Support for the expedition once the following conditions are met in order to mitigate the inherent risks and to comply with all appropriate regulations. Specifically: 1. For the vessels: - the vessels to be used for the expedition must comply with the latest NV–WV 1463/12a specifications, - certificates of compliance can only be issued by the Royal Dockyards following a thorough inspection; the current certificate delivery delay is 3 years, - please note that the latest version of NV-WV 1463/12a specifies the use of flame retardant wood throughout the vessel and requires identical copies of the proposed vessels to be fire tested, - regulation NV-WV 1463/2a is retroactive: ships built before 1463 are also required to comply - once a vessel has been given a C of C, it is the responsibility of the owner to return the vessel to the Royal Dockyard for its annual re-certification, - all testing is at the owner’s expense, 2. For the crew: - certificates of good conduct from the Royal Constabulary and medical releases from the Royal Health Institute are required for each crew member without exception, - medical releases must include the family medical history and a certificate for fitness to work on a vessel signed by two independent inquisitors - training logs for all crew members must be up to date and include all applicable safety and operational certifications, - the ratio of male to female crew members must comply with the Royal Equality Board recommendations, particularly as the complement of senior officers is concerned, - crew-officer steering committee to be set-up and to meet on a bi-weekly basis, if the expedition comprises more than one vessel then inter-vessels monthly meetings of combined crew-officer steering committees to be held on a rotating vessel basis, - senior officers to present regular progress reports and updates to the Royal Advisory Board, - representatives of the Royal Communications Office will accompany the vessels and will be solely responsible for interactions with all other Kingdoms, 3. For the environment: - owner of vessel must show proof that materials used in the construction of said vessels came from sustainable forests and fair-trade growers, - preliminary environmental impact study must be presented for approval prior to the expedition leaving, particularly as concern the New World flora, fauna and water reserves. The Royal Advisory Board wishes Senor Columbus the very best of luck and reassures him that it will be strongly behind him, in thoughts, throughout the entire expedition. To this end a Royal Advisory Board sub-committee has been created to act as liaison and facilitate internal communications. We further recommend to Your Majesty that a Royal Commission be set-up to thoroughly investigate the root causes of the Kingdom’s increasing inefficiencies and disaffection with private enterprise. We view this initiative as most important and feel confident that a series of measures and initiatives from the Royal Advisory Bureau can provide solutions to these problems. Humbly yours, THE ROYAL ADVISORS
Guest rob Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Boss, your post worries me.... Now, bearing in mind that I'm known for reading between the lines and looking for hidden meanings in what people say - but this is so very not like you. I'm worred that something new has happened, or a new development, from a legaslative standpoint that has now become the straw that broke our backs. What's happened mate?
nonameno Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Hi Rob, I can only guess what is going on right now, and I am sure that would just be the tip of the ice berg. The whole world appears to be heading down the nanny (police) state road. I hope this will just be a bump in the road, and that you will someday be writing another thread about your experience, and we will all get a good laugh out of it. Best of luck and stay strong, Curtiss

"Trust me, as a former lawyer" Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron?
celtmick1984 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 With Ken on the self-representation bit. In the States we say, "The lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client." Otherwise, hear hear to the defense of our liberties! In honor of Sir Winston, it bears alluding to his speech, given 72 years ago today. "If we can stand up to [them], all [the world] may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands."
Duane Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Im with you Rob. Recently I have noticed that car motorsports is not publicized as much on free to air tv, guess it is due to the government thinking if we reduce the air play, not as many people wont go out and race on the streets therefore having less accidents on our roads. They don't seem to care anymore whose lives they are going to ruin and place out of work because they have an ideal idea for public health, what about the start of the chain with the farmers and his workers and families, let alone along the whole production line going right through to the retailer hence you, how many 10,000's of people will this effect, loose their jobs? Isn't the government meant to protect jobs and help create more? Our government has lost direction lets give each family around $100 for the carbon tax offset wow, what is there plans for the future besides lining their own coffers and setting up their retirement?. I could go on with this **** all night I have even told the wife I want to leave Australia now, as citizens we don't have many rights now, now is becoming the time that the public is ripe for surrender. In my tired sleeplessness hope it makes sense (guess will read it in morning and see what **** my brain writes).
IcedCanuck Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I'm with you brother! When the world governments impose new bogus legislation that imposes on out way of life, our rights, and our liberties there can only be one response and that's to flip them off and tell them to kiss our collective a$$es!
kjellfrick Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Sounds like you're in a tight corner, Rob. I sincerely hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.
mk05 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 What are the healthcare industry and or governments so afraid or concerned about? Is it my personal health? It's my health, piss off Is it someone else's health? How about we deal with industrial smog output in China, radioactive waste and fallout, and hell why not, maybe even cow farts first. So what is it? What is the issue here? Are you Michael Bloomberg? Do you just not like smoke yourself? It's not your prerogative to force your indoctrination as policy you fkhead. I'm with you Rob Ayala. I've been pulling my hair out over here.
phoenix Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 "... from my cold, dead hands" just in case you didn't catch the reference-- just replace 'guns' with 'cigars' or whatever else... or alternatively....

I'm with you Rob Ayala. I've been pulling my hair out over here. They are scared because the anti-smoking lobbies have them thinking ALL tobacco is as harmful as cigarettes AND we all need to be saved from ourselves. With the world economies in the crapper and social services promised to every citizen of every FREAKING country not paid for they are looking to raise revenue or reduce their future costs. Tobacco is an easy target because since the 50's it's been blow after blow after blow to the tobacco industry. Now that the cigarette companies have been squeezed for every last drop of money the bureaucrats all around the world are looking to continue their crusade and we are where we are today. Now that warning labels and excessive taxes haven't killed smoking they are onto plain packaging more taxes. Obviously they are now bullying businesses, that dare offer these products, our of business. Do not be naive, these political action groups, politicians et al care nothing for business. Big government is their business and they MUST continue to expand their foothold or become irrelevant. Unless there are more people like Rob that yell at the top of their lungs "ENOUGH" our ability to enjoy anything that could possibly, in extreme excess, harm us or impact the cost of health care, etc., will be taken from us bit by bit.
snickers99 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. -- C. S. Lewis
celtmick1984 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Snickers99: Yep yep. Ol' Clive Staples had it right.
Puros Y Vino Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 someone needs a hug..... If he gets time in the slammer there'll be more than "hugs" going around. But seriously, good on you Rob! I wish we had some folks here with the same level of "gumption". Too many PC sissies in our gov't.
winelover Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 You live in a democratic country where citizens are collectively free to choose their politicians - i.e. you get what you deserve. If it sucks so much and makes you this passionate, why not start a tobacco funded freedom party. KG can help you with the manifesto and if need be your defence attorney, Smithy can be campaign manager, Lisa PR adviser, Cohiba press relations officer... Otherwise Rob sympathies are with you and hate the big state. Freedom these days is defined as what the Government will allow you to do rather than the reverse. UK is going extra big brother with new search engine spying legislation where absolutely everyone's searches will be retained apparently we have to trust them on this.
