Last night Matthew and I had the pleasure of having Claus (lotusguy) over for a smoke. He had the choice from my humidor and decided that the 2007 Davidoff Puro Robustos were worth a try. They were really nice! Lots of smoke, smooth and consistent, on the milder side and tasty. Needed some re-lighting though.

Matthew thought Claus was terrific and I told him he was a typical example of an FOH member.

PS, Claus left a little gift for us that was generous and wonderful...

It's Claus!! aka "Freddie The Freeloader" I'm sorry I couldn't make it. It was a long day for me and I had committed to playing volleyball later in the night. I'm sure Lisa took good care of you.

I gotta say out of all the 'online communities' I am a member of or have been in the past this one is hands down the best as far as actually getting together and meeting in the 'real world'. I never thought in a million years that of all things cigars would be the catalyst to meeting all kinds of new people who have been, thus far (knock on wood), down to earth, very friendly, and approachable people!

Thanks again for hosting me, Lisa - so nice to see a friendly face rather than a cold, empty hotel lobby when traveling on business :)

@Frank: Freeloader... Pffft! I paid my dues with the super-rare Opus X Shark that I hand-selected with tender loving care at Casa Fuente in Las Vegas and transported wrapped in velvet made from Lama wool from the high Andes. I kissed it good night and tucked it in every night since I picked it up a year ago :D

Is an opus shark as good as the anejo shark?

I prefer the Anejo, but then again, I prefer the whole Anejo line over the Opus X line.

Last night (April 5th)'s herf went til almost 1 am... it started at 6:30 pm. Matthew made his famous pizzas and every one brought wine, rum or Cognac. And of course incredible cigars for sharing, trading and smoking! We started outside, under heat lamps etc, but then it got just too friggin' cold!!
