Thanks for the vid. I'm a believer in the wrapper's impact on flavor. I've tried a wrapper removal experiment myself,

and the change was much more drastic than I'd expected or thought possible.

Everytime I watch a video showcasing Hamlet I'm always blown away. The guy has a natural charisma and ability to teach while doing what he does(pure artistry) always makes me smile. I love the fact also that his english is very good, thank you for sharing the video.

I've met Hamlet at a couple of cigar parties in Vancouver where he was invited to be a guest roller. At the first gathering I remember him telling me that Havana was doing a great job with Partagas Lusitanias so I picked up a box a few months later. Wow !! When I opened up the box ( Feb 09 ) I was met with some of the prettiest cigars I had ever seen, nice oily wrappers and immaculate construction. I've done pretty well with being able to hang on to these and still have over half a box. His custom rolled cigars aren't bad either.

Agreed. He is at heart a great and funny person, always willing to showcase his passion for his art and country. A great guy to chat with. I'm looking forward to the next time I can meet up with him....

We Toronto folks were very lucky this past summer. He was here for quite a while. I chatted with him several times while rolling. Smoked with him at the Toronto herf etc. He's full of stories, superb cigar knowledge and for those of who smoked his "freshies" a master roller. I do recall him saying that the Lusi's were top notch as well. He also said that the BHK54's were some of the best cigars coming out of Cuba.

I think from what he was saying, generally, the wrapper shade doesn't matter much, only maduro cigars have their flavour affected by the wrapper.

Is that woman really with that guy.?...he must be loaded, one way or another.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing mate.

I would do anything to get a hamlet. Just the way he caresses and plays with the tobacco to get it in the right blend. This man is a genius

hamlet says the bigger the ring gauge, the less the wrapper contributes to the overall flavour of the cigar. a wrapper on a 52 ring gauge would give roughly contribute 6 to 8% of the overall flavour.

His favorite cigar is a partagas lusitania.

I love his work. How are you able to track Jaimes movements all over the world?I would love to find him on a trip OS.

Any ideas, Cheers Nic.

Read Rob's Siglo VI and Genios Maduro experiment and I think you will think differently . . .

Quick summary:

When Rob switched the Genios wrapper to the Sig VI the Sig Vi smoked like a Genios

And when he switched the Sig VI wrapper to the Genios the Genios smoked like a Sig VI
