I can totally see myself sitting on a la-z-boy in the corner of the basement, with a BBF in my mouth and a few remotes around me, digging away in the basement. Not for 15 years though...

I don't know if its amazing or pathetic.

I think its a bit of both (the feat itself being amazing and the person being pathetic depending on what else they've achieved in life).

What a loser!!!

This is how I see it. I really believe, "to each his own", but come on! On second thought, he might be the perfect neighbor.

Is a little creepy thinking a man in his basement that long, I mean it's good he truly does what he loves but life's way too short for that almost pointless excavation on a miniature scale, IMO...

um im lost for words 15 years doing this.

if you were his neighbour you would think it is the burbs for real, remember that movie

I know that if I was digging in my basement for FIFTEEN YEARS :surprised::surprised: - you'd think you'd become Jed Clampett eventually!

I wouldn't call him a loser at all. How many mindless and pointless hours have we all spent smoking tobacco and watching reality TV? I really think this is pretty cool.

I agree! We'll all have hobbies that others may consider odd, strange, or downright weird, but that's no reason to call a that guy a loser. He built the models in the first place and then designed and contructed a project to use them. Okay, 15 years is a bit of a stretch, but that's dedication.

One question though, did he make miniature expolsives to assist with his demolition work? Would be a lark if he did. :D

huh, i have a dirt basement, but i'm too lazy for that... never mind the ADHD...

I lost interest after watching 20 seconds of the video of him trying to get the excavator through the window. I can't imagine how he could do that for 15 years.

Did he have the proper permits? Is his property zoned for mining and excavation? Did he properly dispose of the mining product?

OOOHHHHH, this is the CIGAR forum not the environmental law forum-sorry. In that case, I am really astounded by his dedication.
