Tan1801 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Wow. Shows that even if the acts they partake in can be questionable, everyone has a conscience/good side.
TonyV Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Honor among thieves. This one had his own code which he lived by.
Ghabanos Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 gotta get these dirt bags off the street...
Fuzz Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 In jails (at least the ones over here), there is no worse crime that being a rock spider (pedophile). They are always segrated from the rest of the prison population as they tend to get beaten, shanked, or just plain killed.
Ken Gargett Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Good Judge, didn't hit him too hard. to be honest, i thought it was harsh. these days, so many sentences are so lenient (no info re past offences here which would be taken into account for sentencing) that, given what he did, it was a very harsh sentence. obviously don't want to encourage theft and it is important to punish those that commit crimes but i thought a suspended sentence would have been fairer and sent a far better message. a month in jail and a fine? be very interested to know if that would encourage others to act in a similar manner.

capnshazam Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I'm glad that the the pedophile was caught. Ken I think that the aggravating factor for the judge's sentence was the theft of the car last year and not just the phones and wallet that got him the one month sentence. On another note, I'm not trying to be a creep and not for my personal use, but how do these sicko's find this stuff? I really hope it is more than just a Google search for kiddie porn.
thechenman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 All I can say is this guy's lawyer sucked. If he couldn't work out a plea bargain for handing the cops a pedophile, then he should not be practicing law.
danistalking Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I don't have any sympathy for thieves or anyone who deliberately causes harm to another person. Dealing with these people on a daily basis these guys don't care about anyone except themselves. For me, he was looking out for himself when he turned himself in. He just didn't want to be caught with the child porn in his possession because then he'd go in the can for that as well as the other charges. Your time served is very 'difficult' if you're a child molester or child rapist so he just guaranteed himself (1) easy time (2) less time. I don't know how the laws are in Aussieland but I figure it can't be much different.

That's why my comment earlier about the Judge being lenient. This was not a first offense. No porn and he would have kept everything.
