perfectform Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Have no idea how 09-11 is smoking, but from my experience the 898V and BBF have been outstanding with 6 months or less on them.

Bcrowell Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Yes, I almost bit on them last night during the LFTH. They are beautiful.

OZCUBAN Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Hi What the other guys have said is sound advice ,love them all ,now the hard part the best way I have found is to buy as many boxes you can afford and or store ,and before to long you will always be smoking cigars with a bit of age on them OZ
Bcrowell Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 I am in the process of buying more than I should allow myself to afford. I do love me and need to make sure I'm satisfied. Within a couple years I will be in position to smoke some older cigars. It is so hard being a rookie.
fishinguitarman Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 What else you gettin? I don't need any party shorts. That just didn't sound right did it.....
fishinguitarman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Hey Troutmisser...Did you get any more suggestions?
bassman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 First, don't but a cigar because someone else likes it. Second, don't buy a box to start. Buy a sampler of various brands & see what YOU like. Once you determine that, buy two boxes or a cab of each. That way you'll be able to age & smoke the cigar.
Hemsworth Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Im going the exact opposite route. Since I can't seem to find a Cuban that I dont like, I am buying boxes of cigars that I have never tried and trying to stash them away. If I end up with something that I genuinely do not like, it'll be all that much more easy to forget about them for a couple of years. I have already been witness to the benefits of ageing and the improvements can be quite remarkable. That being said...the current Partagas D4's are smoking great! I dont know if that particular box will last much beyond the spring.
fishinguitarman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 "That being said...the current Partagas D4's are smoking great! I dont know if that particular box will last much beyond the spring." Ya had to say that didn't you....Time to go shoppin'
Bcrowell Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 I gotta get a box of D4's. That was the original plan, but I went crazy and bought everything else.
hdryder Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 May as well get two... I bought a box 4 or 5 months ago from cigar czar & was sitting on them but I am starting to think I should just order a couple more boxes start smoking them.
Hemsworth Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I bought a box 4 or 5 months ago from cigar czar & was sitting on them but I am starting to think I should just order a couple more boxes start smoking them. Try one out and tell me that I'm wrong.
Bcrowell Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 I need a humidor upgrade. My cooler isn't cutting it anymore. I too believe we should just buy 75-100 of a great cigar. It should take a couple years to get through them and at least the last ten will have some age on them.
Professor Twain Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Can't go wrong with a Hoyo EPI # 1 or 2. I agree completely. Have gotten so I prefer the vivid taste of a young Hoyo to the aged ones.
aavkk Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 don't but a cigar because someone else likes it. Steve, dont you know I've been happily riding on your coat tails for the past 2 years!
eber Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I'll cast another vote for young PLPCs, I just got a cab from July '11 and they are delicious right now, also as others have said the Allones Extra are smoking great ROTT as well
hdryder Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Try one out and tell me that I'm wrong. Nope you were right. Now I have to buy another box or two to make sure I have some to age.
