I am really becoming a fan of this size, they have great flavors and are priced reasonably. I dove in and got boxes of the bolivar petit coronas, Monte no. 4s, Diplomatico no. 4s, and the partagas mille fleurs.

So what should I try next, and which ones should I avoid?

As many of the petit coronas (including Dip. #4) have been discontinued already, hurry up -

you can still find some boxes of Punch Petit Corona del Punch, Punch Royal Selection #12, Saint Luis Rey PC, etc.

Amongst the ones still in production you have chosen well - you could add Por Larranaga PC, Juan Lopez PC...

Some of my personal favourites are minutos, just a touch shorter than PC's but full of flavour:

SCdlH Principe, RASCC, BCJ, Partagas Shorts....

Enjoy!

SCDLH Principes and Trini Reyes are among the best of that vitola (technically minutos). Trini Coloniales (which are somewhere between a corona and a PC) are also an excellent choice.

Reyes and Party shorts are my two most regular smokes of this size, I never bore of the Party short, I just need to buy some to keep

Reyes, Partagas shorts, RASCC all very good minutos.

Party Shorts are not PCs. For me, I keep buying Bolivar PCs & MC#4s.

Punch petit coronas are fantastic little smokes, so interesting and unusual. Also Quintero brevas are a great little rock'em sock'em stick for when you want something rustic and honest with no illusions of grandeur.

ERDM PC

Siglo II

PLPC

Then you're pretty much set for that vitola.

I have to second the Punch Royal Selection #12... Not a PC I reach for often enough. How can they seriously be on here way out!?

These have always interested me, unfourtunately I am having a hard time sourcing these at a reasonable price :frown:

I like the H.Upmann.Bolivar is a strong second.

The RS12 is good enough and difficult enough to find that they are worth paying a premium for.

Hmmm that is interesting, maybe I will have to try and look harder because the only place I see them they would cost me more than a box of esplendidos here at czars!!!

The only Marevas that I would personally not buy are Montecristo #4. This is simply because, as the top selling Cuban cigar, they are made and distributed whether the tobacco for the best blend is available or not. Hence, they are inconsistent -- moreso than the less popular ones.

If I had only one Marevas to buy, it would be the Por Larranaga, so long as I could age it adequately.

Trini Reyes are not Marevas, but they are consistently excellent even when very young.

Love the Punch RS12, good cigar at a good price, no probs getting em either, sad if they do get the chop!

Por Laranaga PC are good value, great cigar.

Bolivar pc also great, but mono flavoured for me.

I found the Juan Lopez Pc to be a bit dull.

I love Partagas Millefleur, and shorts.

Will look out for the ERDM PC....
