Just wondering if these are available to FOH members who did not make a purchase on last nights LFTH. I would definitely like a copy!

I feel the same way! I REALLY want to see this movie and I'm sure he's done a great job and acknowledge his knowledge on the subject and the information that he's offering through this documentary. But I'm worried it's gonna be a chore to sit through with the sound on. Can anyone re-dub this :P

I wanted instant gratification and bought the digital download off the website (the link provided by riazp). While it was an enjoyable documentary, in retrospect I should have just bought a box from Friday's LFTH and waited for the freebie DVD to arrive.

Watched it last night, great doco

What ever u think of James, it really is a very good watch

He and his team did an excellent job showing the wonderful people of Cuba.

I've wanted to go there for a long time, this movie just confirmed it.

Time to book flights 

I just ordered the DVD from the website, sounds like a good watch!

I'm looking forward to seeing it. I've seen a few of his shorts on youtube but I think this is likely a cat of a different stripe.

Good to hear so much positive feedback, looking foward to this!

Just finished watching it. Great view into the creating of the most famous cigars in the world from seed to smoke and a great connection illustrated between the people and the product. Awesome footage and music as well. Glad I bought it.

I must echo many of the positive reviews. Just finished watching and this film documents the process in such a detailed, passionate and loving way, that it is an instant classic when it comes to understanding Cuban cigars. I am sure I will watch it many, many times, and show it to fellow cigar lovers and the uninitiated so they can better understand the beauty and heritage of this hobby of ours.

My distaste for and distrust of Mr. Suckling are such that I have no interest in this product notwithstanding kg's thoughts.

x2 from me.

Missed a preview of the documentary in Havana and it pains me not to have been able to attend the showing of the movie at the Nacional ( I sent invitations to my Cuban friends and they raved about the film ).

Knowing that good people like Jose Punch Joe and Toby Brocklehurst assisted in the making of this film makes it even more valuable.

I will for sure get the DVD and promote it as well.

I'd like to see it too. James Suckling is a character, and can be a bit annoying, but he has helped the world see Cuba in a non-political way, focused on cigars, that can only have helped the island. His passion for cigars is contagious.

Completely agreed with Atchbo's sentiments.

I, for the life of me, can't get over the disdain some have for JS. Is he pompous sometimes, and a bit hard to listen to or read? Sure. But who isn't sometime? Especially those in his position, who have become a bit of an "authority" on a particular subject, or on particular "luxury items", as cigars and wine are generally accepted as being. Even how he drives me nuts with some things, I've found that most of his articles were the best parts of C.A., and find myself not enjoying the magazine as much without his articles.

It seems that with some of these comments on here, that some could do with a dram of Mom's common-sense medicine - "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything".

I'll take that as your polite way of telling me to shut up.

I disagree. People are entitled to voice their opinion. It doesn't always have to be positive. I for one always welcome to hear what everyone thinks on a topic, whether positive, or negative.

True, to a point. The problem with this thread is that it's supposed to be about the movie, not Suckling himself. I'd love a diverse discussion about the film, but personal views on the man belong elsewhere.

Fair enough, but when one reviews a movie, or show, do they not talk about the creator/director as well? I see this as the same thing. Personally i want to see this, despite my personal feelings about him.
