He will more than Likely be rolling his robustos and his coronas while there. But if you ask for something special from him I am sure that he would be able to depending on the wrapperleaf that he has available.

For those Calgarians that are on here, looks like we are getting either Hamlet or someone else for a event mid September.

Hamlet is a level 8 (or 9) roller from Cuba. Many regard his cigars as one of the top 3 custom rolls and are highly coveted by cigar collectors.

Many of the Toronto based FOH had the opportunity to purchase his robusto extras at our herf with the Prez on Saturday. Everyone who smoked theirs have said that they are amazing.

Let me know if you need more info via pm.

I have enjoyed his Cervantes (with extra ligero) rolled in 2008 at Toronto. Fantastic cigars. Draw constuction & flavor couldn't be better. If you're in the neighborhood you really should take advantage of the oppertunity.

Is he located in to?

Nope. He works out of the RyJ factory store. He goes "on tour" 3 months of the year. Right now he has been in Canada from August and will leave in October to go back home to Cuba.

How are the coronas? I prefer it to a robusto, but the ones at the herf were really really good!

I bought a few a day earlier. Really nice cigars. Bigger than Coronas too. Haven't smoked one yet.

Shlomo, Strada, I had the extreme priviledge of talking with Hamlet quite a bit during the herf (you could have too if you showed up :P) and he said MAYBE october before he goes back to cuba. Its unsure, if he will even come. I guess we'll find out via Marc's email newsletter.

And for you guys hoping for a long and skinny from Hamlet, don't hold your breath. I dont want to misquote him, Rob, correct me if i'm wront, but when asked about making a long and skinny I think his words were " I F'N hate F'N skinny cigars ". Honestly the guy is a great person, I really hope he comes our way.

That's funny. Taboada also hated rolling skinny cigars. Hamlet did a great job on the Cervantes, though. Perhaps you need more concentration to roll the thinner ones.

I stopped by Thomas Hinds today to see Hamlet, chat for a while and grab a couple more custom rolls (the same as I for at the herf last Saturday. Looking forward to seeing him in Havana at the R&J store in November.
