tmac77 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hamlet will be at Thomas Hinds today Wed Aug 31 - Sat Sept. 3. link to Thomas Hinds: http://www.thomashinds.ca/
tdlfoto Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 does he roll customs while there? a predetermined vitola or can you place orders according to your own specs?
tmac77 Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 He will more than Likely be rolling his robustos and his coronas while there. But if you ask for something special from him I am sure that he would be able to depending on the wrapperleaf that he has available.
rckymtn22 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 For those Calgarians that are on here, looks like we are getting either Hamlet or someone else for a event mid September.
DblToro Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 What a treat, make mine a triple double.......lol
Ghabanos Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Friends. Can some one give hamlet a brief intro?
maverickdrinker Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Hamlet is a level 8 (or 9) roller from Cuba. Many regard his cigars as one of the top 3 custom rolls and are highly coveted by cigar collectors. Many of the Toronto based FOH had the opportunity to purchase his robusto extras at our herf with the Prez on Saturday. Everyone who smoked theirs have said that they are amazing. Let me know if you need more info via pm.
bassman Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I have enjoyed his Cervantes (with extra ligero) rolled in 2008 at Toronto. Fantastic cigars. Draw constuction & flavor couldn't be better. If you're in the neighborhood you really should take advantage of the oppertunity.
ckearns Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'll be heading down to see him after work today if anyone's around.
Puros Y Vino Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Is he located in to? Nope. He works out of the RyJ factory store. He goes "on tour" 3 months of the year. Right now he has been in Canada from August and will leave in October to go back home to Cuba.
Ghabanos Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 nice.... thanks for filling in the blanks... I can fully appreciate how awesome it was to have him join the herf...
Diamondog Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'm trying to get some info regarding Hamlet can somebody in the know of him and his wares PM message me please, thanks.
Maron76 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 How are the coronas? I prefer it to a robusto, but the ones at the herf were really really good!
Puros Y Vino Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 How are the coronas? I prefer it to a robusto, but the ones at the herf were really really good! I bought a few a day earlier. Really nice cigars. Bigger than Coronas too. Haven't smoked one yet.
Habanos2000 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This embargo can't end soon enough. I'd love to be able to see Hamlet in the states and try some of his custom rolls!
riazp Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Shlomo, Strada, I had the extreme priviledge of talking with Hamlet quite a bit during the herf (you could have too if you showed up ) and he said MAYBE october before he goes back to cuba. Its unsure, if he will even come. I guess we'll find out via Marc's email newsletter. And for you guys hoping for a long and skinny from Hamlet, don't hold your breath. I dont want to misquote him, Rob, correct me if i'm wront, but when asked about making a long and skinny I think his words were " I F'N hate F'N skinny cigars ". Honestly the guy is a great person, I really hope he comes our way. Riaz

Perhaps you need more concentration to roll the thinner ones.
LLC Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I stopped by Thomas Hinds today to see Hamlet, chat for a while and grab a couple more custom rolls (the same as I for at the herf last Saturday. Looking forward to seeing him in Havana at the R&J store in November.
maverickdrinker Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 We must have missed each other. I was there at around 2:30 to 3:30pm.
maverickdrinker Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hamlet is going to be at Smoking Cigar next week....
