Please help by recommending cigars that fit this profile.

1) very little strength

2) tons of flavor

Is there such thing?

Does strength and flavor come in a pair?

Not a big fan of the nicotine but am a huge fan of flavors.

Who can point me in the right direction. I watch a video on YouTube about tasting cigar and the speaker mentioned that when putting a blend together, he finds flavors a number one priority and strength a second priority in his top five... I understand that these are tobacco leaves and will inevitable have nicotine but will full flav mean med to full strength.

Maybe an amature question, which I am... So help me understand some more about this relationship, if there is a relationship at all...

Hope not a double post. If so, please direct me to the older post.

Thanks

BTW, I think the answer to your question is yes - there can be tons of flavour and not much kick in the cigar. Maybe what you are looking for is a smoother, less spicy/peppery cigar...?

I agree with the above.

Also, in my experience , a cigar that has aged well can lose some of the kick but maintain the flavors.

A good example will be the BFF, young they are full of flavor but will cave your head in, given 3 years, they go to medium strength and the flavor profile is more pronounced.

To me, Rafael Gonzalez fits your low-in-strength-high-in-flavor requirement.

The Corona Extra is still to be found although it was discontinued last year.

I would've agreed with that last year... before I bought a box of 2001s which are currently "caving my head in" :cigar:

Though yeah - normally they're mellow and flavoursome. Good stuff.

Interesting. Your '01s are coronas extras?

I'm working on an '01 box of Lonsdales. They never seemed that strong to me.

It just goes to show . . .

Yeah they are CEs. Also strange is the fact that their colour is virtually maduro. In my experience, the RGs are usually quite light in colour. It was a PSP purchase from Czar.

While I'm not sure either have "very little strength", two off the top of my head:

Hoyo Epicure No.1

La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'Or No.2

I don't consider either to be "strong", but agian, they are not overly light.

Each aspect of a cigar can be represented as a "strength, or a weakness." I refer to a strong flavor as robust. A robust cigar has "constitution" which allows it to hold up to accompaniments. It makes up its "personality" but does not necessarily affect its "character or complexity."

Nicotine is what I call a sensation and not a taste. Pepper, for example can be either. One could taste pepper or simply the effect of pepper as a sensation; a sting on the tongue, gums or palate. I like a cinnamon pepper, but real mouth sting is distracting in a great cigar.

I think a lot of the answers were fair ones. I believe 42 ring and under cigars will help fill the robust flavor demand without the buzz.

I think one could add a distinction between strengh, as in richness, verse power. One can be rich in flavor without being too robust in flavor. I find what while I do like the robust nature predominantly, the rich medium or even light bodied cigar can be very satisfying.

I like RG's, QdO, Monte Esp, Lanceros, some LGC and Juan Lopez, even the #2 (JL) here. Some will be less robust than others, but good cigars have a richness which will likely compensate you in the same way.

Although no one on the forums ever seems to mention them, I would say Rey del Mundo Choix Supremes. Although they are light they are very flavorful, IMHO.

And although I've smoked a bunch of them, I've never had them from the Czar, but I can imagine that a HQ, or PSP box would be friggin' AWESOME.

Thats my two cents.

I also like the choix supreme.

For a cheapie,HDM palmas extra, are rich in flavour, without being overly powerful in nicotine.

Get the Choix Supremes! You won't regret it. Besides the price is pretty reasonable!
