Lotusguy Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Where is the <facepalm> smilie when you need it???
LeafLover Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I heard Gurkha is coming out with their most rare cigar of them all... The Loch Ness. For sure no one will find them.
sblevit Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Funny, I also heard about a very rare Ghurka -- one that doesn't taste like crap.
Colt45 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Guys, as our Aussie mates say, let's play the ball - not the man. Aside from that, has anyone tried the Black Dragon or Louixs?
CanuckSARTech Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 LOL!It's the most private, exclusive membership in the world. The next sentence starts with Join. My thoughts exactly. If it was so exclusive and private, it wouldn't be a public webpage. Sounds like they just want to make $50k a pop off of some poor suckers that want to join. I don't know about the list either. If they're the "most rare, sought after cigars", then in essence, wouldn't they be ones that are near impossible to buy through a little club, let alone have a finite price point on it? I don't know, something like an original diplomatic Cohiba, or an original Behike, something like that? Just sayin'....

I'm starting a Toronto Chapter! With membership fees that high I could afford to buy my CC's from the LCDH with all those neat CDN taxes on top! So, who's got $50k?
jman Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I have had the black dragon..Terrible cigar, way to strong
jsd Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Padron sure messed up the name of the 1926 80th...if it was for Jose Padron's 75th "anniversary" they should have called it 75th, not 80th. And I sure love the double tapered ends of that double corona.
coneatty Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 LOL!It's the most private, exclusive membership in the world. The next sentence starts with Join. Yeah, that seals the deal for me. I wouldn't be caught dead joining a club that would have me as a member.
gmoney Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Where is the <facepalm> smilie when you need it??? on a side note...I can make a killing selling this fool BHK's @ 470 per single.
HydroRaven Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 It's all about promoting what you sell. Think about it guys: if the man came and told his customers (or members, whatever you want to call them) that the best, most exclusive cigars in the world are all things they can't get, then how does that look for the "most prestigious and exclusive club in the world"? Of course he had to throw the Behike in there because it's so famous even people who would pay $50,000 to join his club wouldn't be so oblivious to the world of Cuban cigars.
rock Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I was suprised this idiot didn't have on his list a 2001 hav-a-tampa. Can you say "Fu@ked Up"
jedipastor Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I owned an original Gurkha Black Dragon Presidente, but I sold it along with some other Gurkhas in a big sampler. I've had the new blend of the Black Dragon (which is not hard to find, to my knowledge), and it's a decent stick certianly, but nothing too special. It's rare, sure, but it's absolutely NOT one of the most saught-after cigars. Opus, Padron 40/80/FR, Behike ... sure. But that US shop is obviously not going to put all Habanos on that list ... they don't sell Habanos! You promote what you sell. In the same way you're not going to see Rob reviewing the new Tatuajes and Illusiones ... it would be pointless for them.
asuavea1 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 This guy has: According to the website, "The BHCC was also chosen to launch and be the exclusive distributor of Grand Met’s line of Goldwin cigars, a signature blend for the discerning palate of our members. " So I suppose you'll have to go to Beverly Hills to find out about the "Louixs". I'm just thinking now . . . I really don't mean to be insulting to Mr. Lee, if he should be a member of FoH. It's all in good fun if I ask our Australian members if could be a wanker, or a tosser? All in Good Fun, Pete Ok, I'll bite.......what the heck is a wanker!? Tosser!?
Puros Y Vino Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Ok, I'll bite.......what the heck is a wanker!? Tosser!? Links.. Wanker And because the link isn't directly over the definition..... tosser Brit slang a stupid or despicable person [probably from toss off (to masturbate)] <-- Really refers to this for the most part.
sloth Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I just went through the smiley list and clicked on all that applied.
LuciusSulla Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I've had various Black Dragons over the years, though I don't think I ever had one of the limited editions when they first came out. Kaizad Hansotia is very clever with marketing and, from what I understand, quite aware that if you make something exclusive there is a market that will pay for it regardless of how good it actually is if you present it properly. I don't think anyone would deny that Gurkha is brilliant with presentation especially considering their market. With that in mind, I have never really been comfortable that there was much difference between the "super exclusive" introductory cigars and the cigars that a year or so later became regular production cigars. As for the Black Dragons that I have had, well... we always joked that Gurkhas were the very finest Toraño seconds.
