Once I had a desire to focus on creating my own cigar ashtrays. I liked the concept of Hand Made products. After reading a bunch of literature, I dug a lot of professional sites, purchased a special professional pottery equipment, materials, clay and set to work. What have I got? Look on images below! Some ashtrays are already filled up a collection of my friends. Just want to share with you my art. Enjoy!

Nice work Dmitrii :cigar:

Thanks Ross! It's small part of my works! All of them made by myself. Very interesting that idea of retro train I saw on Tony Hyman Cigar Hisrory Museum site. But there train was made of tin, my - 100 % ceramics.

Yes, but it's not ad! Here in Russia and Europe ashtrays is cheap and substandard made in China or unreasonably expensive from famous manufacturers such as Davidoff

Great job, I love the train. Is the smoke stack functional?

Yes. This ashtray can be used for a company of 4-5 people. Already checked by my collegues and friends :perfect10:

Love them all - especially the twins that slightly resemble spike heels.

I'd love to see your take on an FOH ashtray :P

Mmm... Good idea! Will think about strongly ;)

Wow these are awesome! :)

Did you need to spend a lot on equipment and materials?

Yes, I had to fork out for this little hobby. The most expensive purchase is a pottery oven.

Nice work. Where did you get them fired?

I fired'em in special pottery oven :fuel:

And than I want to tell you how I'm doing chu-chu train. Enjoy review below!

For doing this product, I use ready-made ceramic paste. Here 12,5 kg (~ 27 pounds)

Then I cut a piece weighing about 1-1,5 kg (3-4 pounds)

post-3407-1300705314.jpg

Unroll it in thick layer like a pancake. Place the transparent mold and cut out some details.

Then build and gluing details

Than sent to the drying which takes place within 10 days. After drying - first firing, than apply the glaze and second firing. I used professional pottery oven
