El Presidente Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I have now had some 20 of these from 3-4 different jars including another one now. I know I have said it before but BRILLIANT! For those that have tried them what are your experiences. Do they match mine? if you can, describe your experience.
MPS Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I smoked a bunch of these from my jar and all have been outstanding. When I smoke them I always say to myself "why can't P2's taste this good?". To me they are rich and very balanced. Probably the most balanced young cigar I have ever smoked. I have a friend who is a Partagas fanatic and he can't keep his hands off his. Whatever they did with this cigar they did it right.
steve047 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I've smoked 2 of the 5er I got and loved them
CBL Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I smoked one from the 3-pack I got, but I have to say it was pretty empty tasting and I didn't get to enjoy it at all. I'm a HUGE Partagas fan and really wanted to like it! I have pretty high hopes for the other two I got but honestly, the first one was sh*t
Sutton Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Love these little guys! I have 2 left sitting in the humi and have had 3 already. It's not your typical n2 in your face (which I still like) it's a very smooth cigar with that nice partagas spice. If I had a jar of these it would be a daily smoke for sure, but local cost for a jar up here was $736 ish cdn. Does the Czar have the jars avaliable ?
Lotusguy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Had two singles I bought in Germany and absolutely loved them - they were my first Partagas ever. Spicy but not too strong. I have since tried P2 and D4 as well but the P1 is definitely my favorite so far - had to buy a Jar (which just arrived) but I want to let them rest for a while first. The smell when you open that Jar is simply amazing! Well worth the crazy price (to me).
in0gravity Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Brilliant is the right word for them. They are just perfectly balanced and blended. Plain and simple one heck of a cigar. regards Lars
kjellfrick Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I've had both a very good one and a very bad one, The first I smoked had a deep creamy Partagas flavour, but the second turned sour very quickly. In balance, I think and hope that they will be gooood. Your experience certainly indicates that, Rob!
n2advnture Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 So far, had nothing but mediocre experiences but the underlying profile seems like it would lend itself for aging well. I'm putting them down for a couple of years before revisiting them.
CigarmanTim Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Wow. To see conflicting reviews from the heavy hitters....is odd.
CanuckSARTech Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I have now had some 20 of these from 3-4 different jars including another one now. I know I have said it before but BRILLIANT! For those that have tried them what are your experiences. Do they match mine? if you can, describe your experience. I picked up a single from a local B&M, but I just haven't had a chance to get around to smoking it - the weather here has been atrocious for the past few months, and I forgot to bring this with me on my Cuba trip to enjoy. It's already lined up to be one of the first 5 I get into, once the warmer spring temps start showing up in another month or so. On a bit of a side note with these, Rob, I have a question about these jars. Do the P1 jars have a specific box code/date to them? I ask, as I wasn't able to find one on the P1 jar that I got the single from at my local B&M (trusted chain). Also, I just picked up a jar of the LGC Deliciosos when I was in Cuba two weeks ago, and I noticed the same thing with those as well. There was no box/date/factory code, just one of the numbered plastic stickers (IE - #12XX of 2000) on the bottom surface of the jar. Do these various jars not come labelled with a specific factory/date code?
Lotusguy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Do these various jars not come labelled with a specific factory/date code? No code whatsoever on my jar (neither the jar itself nor the outer box).
thschrminm Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 All these petit piramides that I have smoked for this production have been spot on and fantastic smokes!!! Kudos to this production run...
CBL Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Man, am I one of the only ones that had a bad one?
stogieokie Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Man, am I one of the only ones that had a bad one? . . . at least you've had one--lol!!
Sandman Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 All these petit piramides that I have smoked for this production have been spot on and fantastic smokes!!! Kudos to this production run... Couldn't agree more Jose! Fantastic smokes!
CigarCanuck Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I am one of the lucky ones and got a jar of these cigars. Wow, full bodied little demons of spice...these cigars are great to enjoy and cherish one at a time...Good taste of spice from these p1's
melies Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I have had 3 of this, and can only say IMHO that they are outstanding, very smooth smokes. Lots of cream, oak, leather and some cocoa, really great cigars, I still have around 10 of them, an as soon as I can, will get the Jar
sharks Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I have always wanted to be a Partagas fan but for me they just have not hit my taste buds until the P1's. All I can say is WOW. The sampler I received from you Rob has been Brilliant! Great construction, had a creamy toasty flavour and plenty of smoke. Well worth the dollars IMO! Sharks
Colt45 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I have always wanted to be a Partagas fan but for me they just have not hit my taste buds until the P1's. Sharky, just out of curiosity, have you tried the P 898 or any of the Serie du Connaisseur line? Sampler? I guess they're no longer available? If I recall correctly, when the jars became available, the Czar Crew made samplers available, and then had a giveaway draw for the jar(s).
sharks Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Sharky, just out of curiosity, have you tried the P 898 or any of the Serie du Connaisseur line? Hey Colt, yep tried the 898. I have a mate who constantly throws them at me in an endevour to get me to like them. I havent given up yet... Tried a No 4 initially when I started with cigars and it just about blew my head offffff . Although my pallete now is nothing like it was then. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Sharks
