I would love to have members take on a frequently asked question (admittedly in different variations) which came up again yesterday.

"what are the lightest and fullest bodied quality Havana's being produced since 2007"

The reason for the bolding of quality is I didn't want anyone to list Guantanamera :peace:

From your experience (and it doesn't have to be extensive experience) what would you reply?

OK, I'll take a shot at this since I started smoking cigars around 2007. :peace:

For the lightest I'd say Fonseca Delicias and Por Larranaga Panatellas.

For the fullest body I'd go with Partagas SD4. It always gives me a great tobacco kick. I've had some pretty robust Siglo I's too.

And FWIW, in the midrange, I'd place a lot of RyJ's. PC's Churchills, Romeo No 2's.

Lightest: Quai´d Orsay Coronas :peace:

For me, I'd say the lightest bodied are the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills. Light, simple, easy going, not overly complex.

For fullest bodied, I'd say it's a pretty close toss up between the Partagas Serie line (both the SDN4 and the SPN2) and the Trinidad Ingenios EL.

Lightest: Hoyo Epicure Especial- The smoke is so light I didn’t even know if I was drawing any smoke for the first couple of centimeters. Spicy though.

Full: Cohiba Genios- Rich and dense smoke and strength to match too!!

Kind of a tough question (and obviously somewhat subjective) - I can't recall ever smoking a Havana that I felt truly light bodied.

Delicate in flavor and / or delivery, perhaps, but not truly light in body (not including duds).

As for full bodied, or nearly so, I'd agree with the Partagas SdC 3 and would add the 898, along with the Bolivar PC.

[i'd have to go with the R&J Cazzy as the fullest. Lightest, not enough experience with the lighter smokes...however, I am not sure if I am confusing Body with strength...

for me "light" is a BRC "full" is a Partigas churchill deluxe having said that I am aware they were discontinued in 06

+1 on the fullest.

Althought I love some of the Le Hoyo cigars that are just stocked with flavor and richness the Epicure line is very light for me.

lightest i've had is the ERDM choix supreme, nice though.

fullest probably the Bolivar bf of or partagas 898.

This is my idea of a full-bodied Cuban...

Shrink, thank you for clarifying. I was having a hard time understanding that defiinition...

I have one perception of "body" and Colt has opened me up to another. I think yours is best...

*) Lightest bodied: Fonseca Cosacos

*) Fullest bodied: Partages de Partagas No. 1

***More pertinent quick review description of each: The Fonseca Cosacos so light, like smoking flavorless air. Didn't enjoy at all. Absolutely nothing there.

The Partagas de Partagas No. 1, you could tell was great for aging. This particular one I had was so strong, yet so mellow to the taste buds, it was like a Vodka coctail - sneaks up on you where the taste was good, but you feel no buzz - until you try to stand up! Then you're either on the ground or dropping your keys, glasses, other items, etc. while trying to walk.

I have often seen Bolivar, overall, being called the fullest marca overall, and in my limited experience with different brands, I definitely agree with this.
