joeypots Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 More than I need and fewer than I want. Something north of a grand. I keep track with a 29 cent pocket spiral note book.
Daidemo Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 My regular stash is about 80 boxes. Right now there are about 1500 cigars what is near my minimum. Smoking on average 3 cigars per day this is not enough, actually I have problems with their proper aging.
kafreeman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 500-1000 Normally 3-4 per week... will probably be going far south of that now that I moved to a cold climate.
PoohBore Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I have about 300 nc's and around 350 cc's. Only been smoking for a couple of years but the collecting is great. Helps that my parents love to holiday in Cuba which keeps the costs down a bit. I have a 6 foot cabinet, a 7 drawer humi and a tupperdor bought for£20 . I'm in awe of you guys in the thousands

I'm in awe of you guys in the thousands You'll get there. I've been buying Cuban cigars by the box for 8 years. If I like a cigar from a particular year, I'll get multiples. For example, about a year ago I bought a cab of 02 BCEs. They were gems, so I immediately bought 2 more cabs. Glad I did, as they are no longer available.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Right now, 556. About 90% of that is boxes, rather than singles. Only a very few (couple dozen) of miscellaneous NC's. I'm actually fairly low right now - usually, I'm more in the 750 to 1000 range. I've been a bit lower over the last year or so, due to layoffs and finances, etc. With some good deals through Czar, trying to get that back in the plus 750 range again.
mkz Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 No exact numbers, but I would guess theres about 700 cigars (cuban only) in my humidors. If my wife asks, I only have a "few" boxes...
ohmic Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I have around 30, I just got into cigars so I have a pretty small humidor. Looking to upgrade soon though.
laficion Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I truly have no Idea but, as we say, when you love, you don't count
ZinZan Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I'm comin to 100 mark very soon, considering i started this year i thought it was not bad. Thinking of upgrading to a wine fridge but still grappling with the technicalities of it. Would really like to know the identity 2 guys over 10k mark. Respect!!!!!
Wicky Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 If my wife asks, I only have a "few" boxes... You said a mouthful brother.
LeafLover Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 No exact numbers, but I would guess theres about 700 cigars (cuban only) in my humidors. If my wife asks, I only have a "few" boxes... LOL! That would be an interesting poll. How many of us are closet cigar collectors? My wife is a shoe and jewelry *****. She'll intercept the packages from the courier/mail man and hide them in her walk in closet (size of some bedrooms). You can hide a lot of things in there. We have an unwritten rule about our vices.....don't ask how much it costs.
cigcars Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 *When I finally was able to start acquiring forbidden fruit smokes from 90 miles so. of Florida, I kept a detailed, meticulous list of all I began to have & get. The number grew from 1997 to 2000 to around 1,200. But nowadays, I'd say a safe amount to estimate is around 378 now in 2010. A good 73% of them are Cuban.
mkz Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 We have an unwritten rule about our vices.....don't ask how much it costs. Spot on! My wife is into scrapbooking and got an closet of her own. Dont ask dont tell!

We have an unwritten rule about our vices.....don't ask how much it costs. One night out of nowhere my wife stated to me, (and I emphasize "stated") ... "You spent X,000 dollars on cigars." She had been watching the boxes pile up and did the math. Since then I have been, shall we say, "more careful". I fully endorse your "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
scinmyheart Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I wish I had near what some of you have. Oscar you're not just whistling Dixie there, Oscar I'm in the 500-750 range...would I love more? yes, but stupid things like mortgage, utilities, etc keep getting in the way
Loki Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 My collection was about 900 at its high point then the crappy economy hit and my disposible income took a hit. I'm down to about 600 now.
CUBANO Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Too many. Have a spread sheet that I keep track of what I have. 728 CC'sand 216 NC's.
strayvector Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Less than what I'd like, but more than I should.
MontrealRon Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 The big plastic tubs keep piling up in the basement. No inventory, no count, but well over 100 boxes. Purchasing has slowed down due to economic constraints, as well as constant competition from the wine cellar, closing in on 100 cases. At current consumption levels, I figure I've got a good decade of stock, in both of life's neccesities. Perhaps I can stop obsessing now...
Laxman Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Very good question. Think I have around 80 boxes of cc's and around another 150 singles and one box of Pardon's somewhere. Ran out of storage space as I have 4 fridges full and two desk top humi's. Thinking of getting one of Bob's pieces to make it simple.
