El Presidente Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I was with Mike in Melbourne at our recent FOH drinks/dinner who was telling me how difficult it was to get together and have a cigar with friends as none of his friends enjoy a cigar. Here, I take it for granted mates smoke cigars but he raised an interesting point. Question to the members. Of the mates you hang around with regularly......how many enjoy a cigar?, how often do you have a cigar with them? and where do you get together?
Ben Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Yep close mates sadly none They'll have the occasional puff when well pissed but that is it.

My best mate from high school loves and keeps good cigars. And my Brother keeps a multitude. But I can't say they're all good! I'll have to work on him!
SandmanTR Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 For me. Really just 2 "go to" people. My business partner and my father. Out of all the people I know, they're really the only 2 that LOVE cigars enough to smoke with me a couple of times a week. I have a lot of friends that will smoke every once in a while but there's no one else I can count on to sit back, relax and enjoy a great smoke with me. My partner and I smoke at the office usually twice a week. It's what we do to relax, unwind and plan our business future. Plus we have a great outdoor seating area and a kegerator in the kitchen. My father and I usually smoke once or twice a week on my parents patio. A great place to bond...
jman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Only a couple of my good friends smoke cigars, but My Father and Brother-in Law are avid cigar smokers. We hang out at our vacation lake home near St. Louis in the States. We all love cigars and are avid smokers, love the BRC. It's hard to find cigar lovers. I guess i'm lucky
kafreeman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Only a few enjoy an occasional cigar. My wife has one every night with me though.
rdb6 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 While my Dad was alive I smoked an occasional cigar with him. My good friends don't smoke cigars. Since I manage a golf course naturally there are a lot of cigar smokers. I have had a cigar or two with some of my golfers.
Wicky Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 My wife has one every night with me though. Mine too! God bless 'em.
kafreeman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Im happy she enjoys them. She REALLY likes Baccarats, the Coffee infused stuff from Drew Estate, and the occasional Habano. She was going crazy over the Tatuaje Cazadore I gave her the other day though. While her tastes arent the same as mine, Its nice to enjoy a cigar with the wife, helps us both wind down at night.
Fuzz AI Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 My bud Jase is the only person I smoke with on a regular basis. I introduced him to cubans over 10 years ago, and he in turn introduced me to FOH. Wish we could smoke more often, but there just never seems to be enough time. My other friends are social smokers, if they can get permission from their wives. And even if the wives aren't around, they still can't take the risk of smelling of cigar smoke when they go home! Bunch of *******!

Guest rob Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Zero. None of my buddies like to smoke. Quite sad for me really.
El Presidente Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Zero.None of my buddies like to smoke. Quite sad for me really. I thought we were close rob....I thought we were close....
maalouly Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Of my close friends 5, that includes you Rob , but I seem to be surrounded with friends who all enjoy a nice cigar.
Guest rob Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I thought we were close rob....I thought we were close.... My bad amigo - besides the 1268 km that seperate us... we are very close.
ImTripN2 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Yeah, I got two or three mates who very much like to smoke my cigars.
MIKA27 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I have a few great mates that I catch up with once a week (When possible), we generally catch up at either their place or mine for a few drinks and BBQ BUT none of them enjoy a cigar. My friend Jason prefers his tobacco pipes and calls cigars horse c**ks!? WTF!! The ONLY person I sometimes catch up with is my wifes cousins husband Alex, now he loves a cigar and we often relax back at his place next to the Chimnea enjoying a cigar and drink as well as a chat and laugh.
samb Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 One friend of mine enjoys cigars from time to time, but I dont have the opportunity to smoke with him too much . Ive done a few box splits with him as well. The only other person I know that really enjoys cigars is thrilled when his Cuban friend brings him back cigars from factory visits while visiting family in Cuba
blasio17 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Me and my brother enjoy smoking a cigar together. I also found out on my trip back to the UK one of my friends i used to work with enjoys cigars (which i never knew while working together) so we caught up a couple of times and shared some cigars. Unfortunately both that friend and my brother are in the UK and I now live in Sydney. So I'm on the hunt for some cigar buddies in Sydney
Wil Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 None. Was at a wedding recently and watched a mate pull out a R&J tubos, cut it in half and give one half to another mate. They smoked these things hard and I could only imagine how they tasted as they were passed around to all and sundry. I prefer to smoke alone
mazolaman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I'd say about 20% of friends enjoy cigars,if only they'd learn to buy them!
investandprosper Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 None that go out of their way for one. When I host a poker game, they might take one when I offer it. On Saturday, I passed out two Siglo IIs. They left half of them in the ashtray, it was a sorry sight. I'll have to keep some NCs or cheaper CCs on hand for such occasions.
partagasd4 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Just two for me. Unfortunately, I usually smoke alone, but it gives me plenty of thinking time.
laficion Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 For me, mostly 90% of the persons I hang out with since they are members of our cigar club plus some guys in my village who enjoy having a cigar with me once in a while.
mkz Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Just got one of my brothers stuck on the cigar-train. He has now gotten his first plasti-dor and a box of MC4 from the czar. Got about three or four other fellas from the military that never turns down a good cigar when we meet. Furthermore my wifes cousin is visiting us right now and he is seriously starting to fall in love with the cubans....
