THE NIMES FERIA 2010

An annual meeting of 2 cigar clubs.

For the fourth year in a row,our 2 cigar clubs from the south of France, joined together for a 5 day herf in and around the city of Nimes and as always exchanged a great amount of brotherly spirit around great cigars, great wines and of course, fantastic foods .

"L'Aficion du Havane" is our club that I created 16 years ago and,"Cigares & Compagnie",created by Christophe Buet , is a club from the city of Toulouse in the southwest of France.

For our fourth edition, Nimes and her Feria created just the right atmostphere for smoking cigars and tasting great wines.

The Feria in Nimes occurs twice a year, the First and the most important, on the Pentecote weekend and the 2nd,

mostly just for the locals, in September right after the wine harvest.

The main attarction of the Feria is it's bullfights which ranks 2nd after Madrid. The culture of the bull is truly embeded and dates way back in time here in the Mediterranean culture, but, if you don't like corridas and bullfights, no one is going to force you, of course, and you will have a great time anyway.

As for cigar smoking, France is not what you would call a cigar friendly country these days but during the Feria, for the full 5 days, you would think that there has never been any smoking ban passed, inside a public place or out . Wherever we went to eat or any of the many Bodegas we partied in, they all allowed us to smoke our Puros and no one complained.

Our friends from Toulouse had just come back from a trip to Cuba and brought with them some great cigars to smoke during the event, many were custom rolled from Club Havana with the great Monsdale or from Reynaldo

at the LCDH Conde Villanueva.

Here are just a few of the Pics.I would like to share with you all, I hope you'll enjoy.

Guy, thanks so much for the report - fantastic! :P I've also had the good fortune of smoking the Monsdale, courtesy of a good friend here on the

forum, and I agree that it is a great Havana. I thought of you recently while watching a travel program on Nimes and Toulouse - it looks truly beautiful!

P.S. I'm liking the hair :D

Looks like the cigar smokers of Southern France know how to have a good time.

Thanks for the photos.

If I'm not mistaken, there are a couple of women smoking cigars in the photos. It's good to see.

How many women members are there in your combined clubs?

Merci Guy de partager avec nous les saveurs de la feria!

Que de couleurs et de culture aux parfums du terroir de la region ... ca donne envie.
