Stalebread Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Walking around the city with no destination in mind. Wandering. Wondering. Sitting at a sidwalk cafe in the afternoon drinking tea or a beer. Watching. Maybe sketching or writing or reading. Reading. Maybe with a cigar. Maybe not. Working on art without any obligation to keep or show anything. I must not be much of a socializer because all these things I do alone.
ARRV Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 My life is so filled with BS and stress and hectic situations, that idk what to do to completely relax anymore. The only thing is probably a good cigar that can be enjoyed without any obligations. Its rare though, even when I can find a few minutes of utter relaxation, it is usually interrupted by the wife Having a bad day today. I hear you my friend cigar wine music and hoping for a weekend without hours of work
scinmyheart Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 before back problems, used to enjoy golf and water sports...now drinking, smoking and professional tv watching
Rogers72 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I've got a little girl who is almost three so there are fwe things that relax me more than knowing that she is safe in bed and sound asleep. Then it is time for me to hit my favorite rocking chair with a cigar and drink. Aside from that, I enjoy fishing, Sporting Clays, camping, playing my guitar, listening to great music, playing tennis, and cooking. All of which i rarely have the chance to do.
qman22 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I just bought a boat, so I'm hoping that spending my summer on the water will be relaxing. Other than that, music and watching sports provide nice diversions...
Torontonian Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Cigar/pipe smoking is certainly very relaxing. It forces you to slow down and take your time. Beyond that, light reading (poetry, novels, etc - definitely not Hegel or Heidegger) and listening to art-music (in other words, classical music) can be wonderfully soothing and edifying. As a musician, moreover, writing counterpoint exercises or making transcriptions is often pacifying.
mbrody Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I forgot to add the most frequent in the summer: Outdoor Movie at night sitting by the fire, drink in hand, and of course a smoke.
Omskakas Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 -A quick 15 minutes naps work wonders -Computer games, currently playing Mass Effect 2 (I'm a geek) -Gym time. There isn't a problem that can't be washed away with hardcore sets of squats and deadlifts (I'm a strong geek)
Mr. Japan Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Sitting down the National with a good cigar. When not possible ( quite often :-) ) sitting alongside a small river, alone, and smoking a good cigar.
cellinisart Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Cigars aside, watching professional tennis on TV. Watching tennis, smoking a cigar, and drinking a single malt scotch....priceless. ALL THREE AGREED!..........I also play twice a week I would add...to spend time with my 4yr old son....Priceless
finecigar Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Painting with my oils, sitting on the balcony facing Seoul, spending time with the reptiles, and much much more...
habone Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I love to lay on the couch and watch golf... especially the majors. I would have to say the Open, Masters, US Open and PGA in that order. A close 2nd is watching the Cleveland Browns...lose!
Joker Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Being a single dad with two young boys, nothing beats lighting up a favourite stogie with a great whisky to unwind once the day has ended and the little fellas have settled for the night ! Also find cooking quite relaxing, and love having family and friends over for improntu get togethers.
BobLobLaw Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Watching sports, cooking (love my new smoker!), working out. Obviously anything involving a cigar, and being outside in nice weather. Ph, And playing cards. Right now, nothing is better to me then getting a group together to shoot the ****, have a few beers/scotch, possibly a cigar depending on venue and playing cards. Love it. Weekly games on FOH are also a great time. I can't get enough!
ImTripN2 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I prefer to spend my lazy afternoons in idle drunkeness, lounging in the hammock, listening to good music and smoking cigars.
SmokinLightning Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Load up and head out to the open desert to punch holes in paper... nothing like recoil to relax oneself. Floating in the pool with a good cigar, a cold drink and friends to laugh with on a hot summer night. A quiet comfy spot with a good book followed by the perfect nap. I really am a simple creature.
Freddy Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Smoking a CC, drinking a tawny port, and thinking of all the jogging and exercise I should be doing. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow
wp2 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Golf, biking, vacation in Jamaica. Cigar w/micro beer or wine. iPod cranking on deck.
