dicko Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 never had any of this but good luck to him. wonder if the 21 is still around
bigfunkyg Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 never had any of this but good luck to him. wonder if the 21 is still around I'm envious. I keep the 12 year old in my regular rotation, but have not tried the 15, 21, or 25. I usually can't justify spenting $100+ on a bottle of scotch. Once in a blue moon maybe.....
crisdean Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Highland Park is a solid whisky and nobody can go wrong with it. For a nice cuban cigar I would however recommend a Lagavulin or a Laphroaig. the Octomore 130 is nice as well and would be brilliant!
ZinZan Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 This is by far my fav single malt, have not tried the 18 only tried the 12.
rusty Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 another nice review... http://www.facebook.com/HighlandParkWhisky...128536213823646
Montaigut Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Highland Park is the northenmost distillery. Why? To be closer to their best customer: Santa!
bigfunkyg Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Had the 18 year old at a Scotch tasting recently. Definately worth the money. Can't speak for the 21, 25, 30, 40, or 50 year olds!
docbp87 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Highland Park is the northenmost distillery. Why? To be closer to their best customer: Santa! Old Pulteney is the Northernmost distillery in Scotland This was interesting. The "How we taste whisky" or "How to taste whisky" video they have there is very good as well. A lot of the same principles come into play when tasting cigars.
BatFastard Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Beauty!!! The 12 yr is definitely one of my favourites.
Fuzz Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Old Pulteney is the Northernmost distillery in Scotland Gotta disagree with you there. Pulteney is the northernmost distillery on the mainland. Highland Park is on the Orkney Islands (oddly enough on the island called Mainland).
docbp87 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Gotta disagree with you there. Pulteney is the northernmost distillery on the mainland. Highland Park is on the Orkney Islands (oddly enough on the island called Mainland). I stand corrected! Interesting, since Pulteney makes such a big deal about their northerly location.
Fuzz Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I stand corrected! Interesting, since Pulteney makes such a big deal about their northerly location. Maybe mainland Scots don't the Orkneys are part of Scotland considering they were under Norwegian rule at one time? Kinda like the Shetlands.
anacostiakat Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 While not a big scotch drinker I do keep a bottle at the house. Just for medicinal purposes of course.
ckearns Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Gerry Tosh is awesome! His approach to educating and promoting his brand is refreshing compared to others who still take a highbrow approach. There's no wonder he's such a highly regarded brand ambassador. Thanks for sharing.
investandprosper Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Wow, what great videos. I've yet to have a Highland Park, but I may just have to run out tomorrow and pick up a bottle!
Wiley Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Thanks for posting this. I've really been enjoying going through their library of videos on Youtube (something like 50 of them!). They're well done and super interesting. Gerry is a great salesman! I'm definitely going to pick some HP up.
rusty Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 another nice review from gerry, it would be nice to see him on the czar deck one day
Hohenthal Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Always loved Highland Park, great quality, complexity and ballance. Love the reviews, too!
Lotusguy Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Nice thread revival Whoever wrote that comment about Octomore should have his taste buds examined though - 140ppm of peat! Just suck on a piece of charcoal for the same effect. $140 for a 5 year-old single malt saved I kid, I kid!
