Storms rolled into Havana yesterday and the waves crashed over the Malecon.

We spent the morning revisiting some of our favourite Havana haunts. Had a long lunch at great little Paladar "Doctor Cafe" which grills a wide range of meats and seafood at a great price. The wine list is also extensive and pricing as usual all over the place with some magnificent bargains and some quaffers at 10 times the normal price....they need to check their wine price lists !LOL!

Post lunch Old Havana to take Des for his daily walk, pop into Romeo y Julieta to catch up with Hamlet, back to apartment and kip for the nights festivities.

Went to pick up a friend at 9pm, raining, smooth worn marble, my normal leather sole boots.....big fall....big cut....off to Garcia Hospital...8 stitches to back of the head....just came back from seeing the neurosurgeon now (following morning) for final follow up.

Talk about exceptional service albeit at a Foreigners only facility.

So here I am, Siglo II in hand, checking e-mails, tad sore. PCC party tonight and interviewing for a personal nurse in an hour.

Could be worse :D

Prez...sorry to hear about the fall...esepcially with it happening at only 9pm. You easily missed out on another 8 hours of great cigars, lots of booze and good company. Still...great story material. Hope you are feeling better, and if not...I'm sure the Siglo II and a few drams of rum will have you feeling great in no time.

Wow Rob

Hope your Ok ,then it could have been worse i suppose, still hope every thing is going good apart from little slip up ,i hear the new Behike's are some kind of smoke then they would want to be at a rumored 40% higher than normal Cohiba price, I would imagine you will have one at the Gala dinner

Hope to hear any news about deletions .

Remember to let your nurse help you in the days ahead :lol3: The Irony is you were safer in the Amazon jungle :D ,and you now there will be people that will get some ammo out of this :o

Remember a drink before leaving oh and the Deck shoes

Seriously take care and enjoy

cheers Oz :wink2:

Don't worry Lisa is treating everyone awesome in your absent. Sure you can't stay one more week. There are a couple more boxes I need to order.

Always something new happening while you are in Havana. Did they have to cut your hair because of the cut to the back of your head? A little longer kip for the elderly could help prevent falls Rob.

That'll teach you to quit the juice! Much like any muscle, you have to exercise it regularly or it will atrophy.

Seriously, thank the stars it wasn't too serious.

I am so sorry for your fall. Hope you will be getting better. Having a nice and enjoyable Siglo should ease the pain (if any...)

Hope you won't fall anywhere else while in Havana

Sorry to hear about your fall. I am sure you had quite a headache this morning. My guess is you would have rather it be from rum.

Enjoy the balance of your trip.

All the best mate. Probably a great reason to turn it up a notch and get looser than you had planned on!! You have a perfect excuse now :lol3:

Mate you've just had a birthday and none of us are getting younger.

After my last birthday I lost a finger, now you've almost smashed your head in.

I think it's time you started wearing sensible shoes, something like a nice loafer with loads of grip.

Take care of yourself Mate.

I'm guessing he didn't need any anesthetic for the sutures. Fully pre-anesthetized.

Hope your head's OK, mate.
