anacostiakat Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 In the Washington DC area. After the two feet just before Christmas this will be another historic storm according to the much inaccurate forcasters. It started coming down about an hour or so ago. Won't stop till sometime like 10 pm Saturday. More forcast for next Tuesday!
stargazer14 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I can see on the radar that storm is moving very slow, you'll get it for a while! It just south of us now but heading north in its own sweet time. I love a good snow. Start a fire and grab a smoke!

Right now I am from running the gaunlets at Shoppers grocery and Costco this morning. What mad houses.
Colt45 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I wish you the best - but I can't say I'm not glad this one is supposed to miss us a bit farther north
ucla695 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Wow, hang in there man and be safe. You can blame Punxatawny Phil for that. Dang prognosticator.
Ginseng Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Stay safe, my fellows. We're looking at 12-18" here. Time to break out the snow shovel, PAM spray, and rock salt. Wilkey
brutusthebuckeye Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Be safe Jim....atleast u got plenty of NC's to throw into the fire to keep warm!!!!!!
Deemancpa Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 In Virginia, I just cleared the driveway of 3in....at 2:57pm...wish I was in the second home in Bahamas
MontrealRon Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 It's so wierd. Here in Montreal, where at this time of year we are usually buried in snow, there is hardly anything on the ground, and nothing forecast for the next ten days.
MPS Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Stay safe everyone. Looks like a nice weekend here in Miami
Ken Gargett Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 should be about 30C here. could do with it quite a bit cooler. good luck to all.
anacostiakat Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Blizzard warning extended to DC for the overnight. Possibility of thunder snow.
Ken Gargett Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Blizzard warning extended to DC for the overnight. Possibility of thunder snow. thunder snow? never heard of that.
cabaiguan juan Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Stay safe, my fellows. We're looking at 12-18" here. Time to break out the snow shovel, PAM spray, and rock salt.Wilkey What is the PAM spray for?
jjeng Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 thunder snow? never heard of that. Unmistakable flashes of lightning followed by the crack of thunder muted by the snow on the ground. It's eerie.
Ginseng Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 What is the PAM spray for? I spray the snow shovel with PAM to keep the snow from sticking to it and weighing down the shovel. With the most recent update putting us at 16-22", I'm gonna need every edge I can swing. Wilkey
Hawk55 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I love walking the dogs in a snow storm. Right now I am from running the gaunlets at Shoppers grocery and Costco this morning. What mad houses. and it is still falling...very slow looks as if it could snow all night.
BobbyRitz Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 We've received 6 inches out my way with the bulk to come overnight. Snow blower is primed and ready...
twalr001 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 No snow down here in Norfolk, VA (outside of a very brief flurry). However, mom/dad/brother up in Woodbridge (30 miles south of DC) say that 30" is in the forecast! --Tyler
anacostiakat Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 This looks familiar! Blizzard of 2010 Feb! Almost an exact replica of the December 19th blizzard. Except more!
BobbyRitz Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I'm gonna have to handle this in shifts.....
laficion Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 just be safe guys OH, and BTW, please get that snowman right!!!!! Would love to see a pic of a BIG snowman with a cigar
